Precious Consequences

4 STARS

SYNOPSIS
All it took was one night to change the rest of my life.

One night that created irrevocable consequences.

But some consequences aren’t all bad.

They can be amazing…beautiful… Precious.

I willingly accepted those consequences and wrote a new plan for my life. But that plan didn’t include Cameron Argent – the sexy-as-sin tattooed playboy who got under my skin the moment I laid eyes on him. I was headed down a dark and dangerous road where he was concerned and in the end, our relationship was inevitable. Despite our dark secrets, our feelings for each other burned brighter than a thousand stars and left us both naked, vulnerable.

But when my past came rolling back into my life like a Summer storm, I wasn’t sure if his love for me was enough.
Was he prepared to deal with the consequences of a past I couldn’t regret or would he walk away with my beating heart in his hands?
(This is a New Adult Contemporary Romance novel & contains language & adult situations. Not recommended for readers younger than 17)

My Review

I always love stories with a strong female character and this one definitely has one. Haley hasn't had it easy due to a decision she made a few years ago that changed her life forever. Now she is a young mother with a full plate. I LOVE that just because she is a young mom, she doesn't just give up on life. I know we've all seen Teen Mom on MTV. *eye roll*

Haley is in school and a full time mom and she adores her daughter. Her life isn't easy but she does the best she can.

Enter hottie tattooed play boy Cameron. He is 21 and carefree. He likes the way he lives his life and has no desire to change. Then he and Haley meet. They both have things from their pasts to deal with but is Haley being a mom a deal breaker for anything series with Cameron?

Tamsyn did a fantastic job with the characters and the angst between them. Haley and Cameron's journey is intense. I don't want to give anything away so just do yourself a favor and read Precious Consequences and see if Cameron will eventually give up his playboy ways or if they just aren't meant to be.

Synopsis:

Layton Morris and his brother Mike grew up not knowing what it would be like to live in a normal home. With no running water or electricity in their home, no parents around to protect them, they quickly learned how to survive and depend only on each other.

When a tragic accident takes Mike away from Layton, and the only other person that he ever let into his heart walked away from him, leaving his heart shattered, Layton focuses all of his time and energy into the ranch he and his brother dreamed of. He makes a vow to himself to never let love in again. The last thing Layton needed or wanted was more heartache.

Whitley Reynolds grew up in a privileged home in upstate New York. When she landed the star football player in high school no one was surprised, not even Whitley. She dreamed of a life with Roger living in New York City and happily followed him there.

The first time Roger hit her for arguing with him about a dinner party, she forgave him. The more it happened, the further Whitley withdrew from her friends and family. One fateful day things go to far. Whitley makes a promise to herself and finds the courage to do the one thing she thought she’d never be able to do.

Fleeing with her best friend Courtney, Whitley was determined to put her past behind her and start a new life in the small town of Llano, Texas, where no one would ever find out about her past.

Will they both ever learn to trust and love again, or will their pasts come back to haunt them, keeping them both alone and…

Broken.

My Review

I'll be honest, while I did enjoy this book, it wasn't my favorite from Kelly Elliott. I found it moved too fast for my taste and it was a little overkill with love. Once Layton and Whitley confess their love for each other they can't stay away from one another. They only know each other a few weeks before they jump head first into their affliction. I was surprised that Whitley was so open to a new relationship having just gotten away from an abusive one.

Layton has been through hell, his past being like a soap opera. His mom died when he was young, then his dad not being able to handle it leaves Layton and his brother in horrible conditions. Thankfully, they survive pretty well on their own and when their father sends money they don't waste it and make something of themselves. But, when Layton's brother dies four days before coming home from the Marine's, Layton is forced to go it alone.
When Layton and Whitley meet both of their worlds start to turn around for the better.

If you like a light cheeseballish type of romance then this book is for you.

Really I'm just a wife to a wonderful Texas cowboy who has a nack for making me laugh almost daily and supports my crazy ideas and dreams for some unknown reason...he claims it's because he loves me.....so I'll just go with that one!

I'm also a mom to an amazing daughter who constantly is asking me to make her something to eat while she has her fingers moving like mad on her cell phone sending out what I'm sure is another very important text message!

Oh...and I like to sit down and write in my spare time!

I live in the Texas hill country and one of my favorite things to do is go for hikes around our property with my second favorite man, Gus....my chocolate lab and my sweet girl Rose, our golden retriever. When I'm not outside helping the hubby haul brush or move rocks or whatever fun chore he has in store for me that day, you will find me inside reading, writing or watching HGTV and soaking in a nice hot bubble bath.....yeah that last one I just made up but it sure does sound nice!!!

Away_for_sharing
EXCERPT:

It was hard to sleep; I was tossing and turning more than ever before. The butterflies in my stomach were in full force as I recollected about each kiss Jason gave me; on my lips and on my bare skin. My thoughts were interrupted as I heard the beeping on my phone. I saw the light illuminating my room as I reached over to grab it; it was a text from Jason. I was suddenly extremely grateful I let him plug his number into my phone after we left the garage earlier today.

Are you asleep yet?

How could I be sleeping? His lips just rocked my world; my heart was racing too much to be sleeping.

Not a chance.

Me either.

I put my phone down and got out of bed. I didn't know what else to do so I let my body decide. It would have argued with my brain either way. I let my infectious craving for his lips guide me downstairs to his room as I quietly crept to his door.

I took a deep breath and tapped on his door. He swung it open immediately as if he knew I was on the other side. The room was dimly lit, but I could see just enough. He was standing there in nothing but boxers; I couldn't help but look him up and down from head to toe. His mouth was open and his breathing was heavy as his chest rose and fell quickly, matching mine. It didn't take long for the hunger inside to take over. He stepped forward and grabbed a hold of me, pulling me close to him as he took us over to his bed. I didn't know where we were going to take this tonight, and quite frankly, I just didn't care; all I knew was I needed to be with him. It could have been Jase, it could have been my hormones, but every part of me was craving his touch. I got a taste and I needed more.

“Cassie,” he whispered.

“Shhh,” I whispered back. I put my finger over his mouth. I didn't want to hear what he was going to say, we had done enough talking for the night.

I stepped up closer to him, raising myself on my tippy toes so I was closer to his lips as I pressed mine hard against his. I heard a small moan escape him as he tangled his hands in my loose hair, pulling us onto the bed.

We fell onto the bed and I positioned myself with my back against it as Jason hovered over me, his arms on either side. I took my hands, placed them on his scruffy face, and pulled him closer to me. Somewhere between being pulled onto the bed and Jason hovering over me, our lips had lost each other; this was not going to work for me. I didn't even have to pull hard as his lips curled up and lowered down to my face. “I've never seen you like this Sweetheart,” he whispered into my ear as he nibbled on it.

I was sure a soft moan escaped my lips as he took my ear into his mouth. “I've been holding it in,” I told him.

“I can tell,” he said quietly before running his lips down my neck then into the curve of my shoulder. It was making me shiver from my neck all the way down to the aching spot between my legs. He was trailing his way down my neck when I suddenly realized I needed to take off what was keeping him from continuing further down.

“Wait,” I breathed out. Jason lifted his lips from my skin as I wiggled my arms enough to slip off the cami I was wearing, throwing it to the side of the bed. He closed his eyes and let out a deep breath.

“Damn Cassie, you are going to be the death of me.” He opened his eyes back up, piercing them into mine. I needed more.

“Please keep going,” I begged him.

“You don’t have to beg, but it's so damn sexy when you do,” he said softly as he brought his lips back to my skin, taking his time as he moved further down to my bare chest. He slowly grazed his lips across each breast before making his way down, trailing kisses until he got to the top of my yoga pants. He was driving me wild; I was having a hard time not ripping all my clothes off. This was not normal for me, but I loved every moment of it. He was bringing out a side of me that hadn't existed before, and I hoped it didn't go away.

I grabbed his upper arms and rolled us over so I was on top of him. I could feel that this was just as good for him as it was for me, as his excitement was sitting between my legs.

“Enjoying yourself?” I asked in the sexiest voice I could find.

“You have no idea. Now get down here,” he said as he pulled me down to his lips, biting down on my lower one before smiling and finally pressing our lips together again. Kissing him was what I always imagined it should feel like. Not wanting our lips to ever be apart because they felt too good pressed together. I knew deep down kissing had to be that amazing or people wouldn’t be so passionate about it. I completely understood it now and I could finally say the feeling happened to me. Jason, he made it happen, he was the spark that lit my lips on fire. I couldn’t help but go insane inside as his lips continued to kiss me like his life depended on it. I slowly released my lips from his and began placing kisses on his chin, running them all the way down from his chest to the very top of his boxers. I slowly raised myself up and loved seeing the satisfied grin plastered on his face. I put my hands on his shoulders and caressed them all the way down, feeling his chest form goose bumps as I did. I took my index finger and traced a line along the top of his boxers, making a soft moan rumble through him. I lowered myself back down on top of him; his hands grabbing my back as our bare chests collided together. I leaned my mouth close to his ear, whispering into it. “I know you green light this.”

That must have sparked something in him because I heard a growl escape his throat as he rolled us back so he was now hovering over me once again.

“Just so you know, I'm not this guy. I'm not normally the guy who has a hard time controlling himself. You seriously have me going crazy right now,” he said with a heavy breath

“Just so you know. I like it.”

My Review

Sometimes in life we find ourselves lost. Sometimes we wake up one day and realize we aren't living the life WE want to but instead what our parents want. Cassandra is one of those people. She is tired of not being her authentic self so she decides to drop out of the program she's currently in and explore other options. However, she makes a decision that will forever change her life. She freaks out and decides to seek help from her best friend who attends another school, one her parents didn't approve of. Along the way, she loses control of her car and hits a tree in the small town of Keaton.

Enter Jason Bradley aka hot knight in shining armor cowboy. He comes to Cassandra's rescue and takes care of her above and beyond how a stranger normally would. There is definitely an instant connection between the two of them but they are both keeping secrets. Big ones. Will they be able to trust each other enough to share their secrets or will they keep silent? And, what will happen once the truth comes out? Sometimes people are put in our path for a reason, whether they are there for a short time or for good. Read Cassandra and Jase's story in Away.

I loved this book so much. It really cut me up inside and I hurt for both Cassandra and Jase. B.A. Wolfe wrote a refreshing yet heartbreaking story. I was swooned and gutted. I need book 2...NOW! Please! Pretty Please with a hot cowboy on top!

Running in Place

(Mending Hearts Book #2)

By L.B. Simmons

This is a series; however, can be read as a stand-alone.
Author: L.B. Simmons -  FacebookTwitterBlog
Release date: October 24, 2

Tatum O’Connell:
Some call me a party girl. People see me as happy, full of life, with absolutely no cares in the world. They see what I want them to see. But no one knows me – really knows me. Not even Noah Reese.  Mr. Perfect is always watching me, most likely judging every single imperfect thing I do. But, if Noah wants to keep an eye on me, that’s just fine. I definitely don’t mind. I just hope he doesn’t have any plans to save me from my new-found life of self-destruction because in order to save me, he will have to see me…
And I’m never going to let that happen.

Noah Reese:
Perfect. That’s me. That’s the only acceptable way to be, according to my father. Perfect grades. Perfect manners. Perfect athlete. Perfect SAT scores. Perfect college. And recently, I was accepted into the perfect med school. My future has already been mapped out for me and there’s nothing that can change that. Not even Tatum O’Connell. That girl is out of control, yet for some reason, I can’t seem to keep my distance from her. I watch her closely, hoping that one day she’ll let me in, but watching her lead her life down the dangerous path she’s on right now isn’t easy…
I have a feeling I’m about to find myself swept away by the hurricane that is Tatum O’Connell.

“Two fleeting souls,
Unknowingly tethered.
Too slowly drawn,
Impatient fate calls.
The jolting collide intertwines their lives
And splinters their walls.”
“Catalyst” – Noah Reese

TEASER
“You’re a worthless excuse for a daughter. I wish I never had you.”
Frantically, my eyes dart around the room for her. She’s here. I know it. I can smell the stench of alcohol in the air.  Whipping around, I search for any trace of her, my entire body shaking and the knot in my throat unbearable. Tears fill my eyes as they anxiously race around the kitchen, finally landing on the cabinet where she used to store her liquor.
Memories flood my mind, the immobilizing terror that I would feel every time she approached it.  The prayers I would send to no one in particular, just hoping that she wouldn’t open that fucking cabinet for just one night.  Prayers that fell on deaf ears.
Slowly I make my way to the white doors, crouching down in front of them.
“You killed him and I will make damn sure you spend the rest of your life paying for that. I’ll never again know true happiness because you fucking exist.”
Shaking my head to try to clear her voice from my mind, I set my trembling fingers on the silver knobs and yank the doors open. Nothing.
A sigh of relief escapes my lips as I close them.  Rising, I turn to take a step towards the sink when another memory strikes.
“Mama, don’t please.” I cry out loud as she approaches me with the scissors.
“I have to, Tatum.  Your beauty does not match the vile, revolting child that you really are on the inside. Everyone should see you for who you are.”  I try to run, but she grabs my long dark hair as I pass by her, swiping the blades so close to my neck that I can feel the cool metal against my skin. Laughing she chunks my tresses into the sink.  “You’re an ugly person, Tatum. Inside…and out, now.”
“God, Daddy.  Please help me,” I say out loud, lifting my shaking hands to my forehead, threading sections of hair through my fingers.  “Please, Daddy, I need you.” After a while, calmness spreads throughout my body.  I’m no longer shaking, but the voices are still there.
Turning the faucet on, I splash water on my face repeatedly, trying to drown out them out along with the memories.  After wiping my face dry with a dishtowel, I hear the crackling of gravel as Noah’s Jeep pulls up into the driveway.
Breathing in deeply, I try to regain my composure as I walk to the door, straightening my shirt and running my fingers through my hair before I reach for the knob.  Hearing steps in front of the house, I barely crack the door and poke my head out to make sure it’s really him.  With all the crazy shit going on in this house I can’t be too sure.  But, much to my relief, there he is, standing on my porch in his classic white t-shirt, work jeans and boots, his fist raised about to knock.
And just like that, the voices are gone and my head is clear.
I release a comforted breath and feel the corners of my mouth slightly lift at the sight of him.
“What are you smiling at?” Noah asks, seemingly nervous.  Opening the door wider, I gesture for him to enter my house of horrors. The sight of his disheveled hair makes me grin even more.
“Your hair, it’s nice to see it like that.  I don’t know why, but it makes me smile.” I clear my throat.  His nerves must be contagious, because suddenly I feel that hummingbird feeling in my chest.
With him now inside, I close the door and head towards the kitchen, checking over my shoulder to make sure he’s following me.  “Want something to eat?”
Once I see he’s fallen into step, I turn back around and round the corner, making sure to avoid looking at the sink. The memory still lingering on the hinges of my mind, I try to push it as far away as I can. “I don’t have much, but I did manage to make it to the store over the weekend.”
“No, I’m good, Thanks, though.” He shoves his hands in his pockets and rocks onto the balls of his feet.
Thinking about our last night together, I feel the frustration mounting within myself. I should kick my own ass for kissing him.  Everything seems so edgy between us now and I hate it.  Running my fingers through my hair, I twist it at the nape of my neck and bring it over my shoulder.
“Well, what’s up?  What couldn’t wait until tonight?”
His eyes widen. “Tonight?  What’s tonight?”
“I picked up Sadie’s shift.”
He grinds his teeth together as he leans against the wall, crossing his arms over his chest.  “I told you to take the entire week off, Tate. You don’t need to work right now. You need to concentrate on healing.”
I know.
“No, I don’t.  I’m sick and tired of being cooped up in this depressing house.  I need to get out, to stay busy.  I feel like I’m losing it, honestly.”  My hands are still trembling and I’m not sure if it’s the sudden anxiety from being around Noah or the fact that I’m losing my mind. His eyes break from mine and land on them as they continue to shake like a leaf.  Pressing himself off the wall, he takes a small, timid step towards me.
I want to tell him to stop.  To stay where he is.  To tell him to leave this house and forget about me.  That I could ruin his perfect life by just being near him.
But I don’t.
I let him continue taking those steps until he’s right in front of me and even breathe out a sigh of contentment when he wraps his arms around me, pulling me into his frame. The tears fall as he lightly traces my back with his fingers, and with each touch, my uneasiness lessens.  I know it’s selfish, but I would give anything to stay in this moment forever.
Circling my arms around his waist, I press my forehead against his chest and watch the droplets as they plummet from my face towards his boots, dark spots forming as they strike.  After a couple of seconds, I replace my forehead with my chin, daring to look into his muddy brown eyes, full of their usual intensity as he studies me, peering into my soul.  In them, I find complete solace and protection, and the sudden desire to share things with him that I swore I’d never share with another living person.
“I don’t know what’s wrong with me, Noah. I feel like I’m going fucking crazy. Ever since Friday, I can’t stop them.  The voices.  My mother’s leading their charge to my insanity.”   My throat closes almost completely shut.  “I hate this house. I hate being here, alone.  So many memories…” I trail off, my strength fading, no longer able to keep from bawling.
I close my eyes as the warm moisture cascades down my cheeks and runs down my neck.  Unwrapping his arms, he moves his hands to my face, wiping the tears away, but it’s useless.   They’re replaced instantly.
“Tate, open your eyes.  Look at me, baby.”  I keep them closed, not ready to face the wary expression in front of me.
“Let me in, Tate. Open your eyes.”  The heartache in his tone and the tremble of his voice prompts me to open them immediately.  As soon as our eyes catch, a breath hitches in my throat.  His eyes shining, he gently wraps his fingers around my shoulders, pressing his thumbs softly into my flesh as he speaks.
“You’re not alone.  I’m right here.” A slight smile of relief breaks through the tears on my face.
I watch his mouth tip up in response.  “Now, tell the voices to shut the fuck up because it’s my turn.”

My Review:

This is an emotional story about two broken people who find their way to each other and finally the healing process begins. Within the first few chapters I was already glued to the pages with teary eyes. The abuse that Tate went through as a child and the fact that she was and still is so alone is heartbreaking. She is lost. She is angry. She is broken. Until she meets Noah. Noah is also lost and dealing with his own pain. In the beginning, they fight every time they are around each other, but when they are forced to work together more the walls start to break down. I loved their banter, the fact that Noah can't stop staring at Tate, and that Tate notices. Noah.....I loved Noah! I love that he writes his feelings in lyrics. I love that he understands Tate and that she understands him.

This book has everything I love. Angst, romance, a hot swoony guy,  healing, humor,  and love.

My Review

Whoa baby! Wild Child takes us on a wild ride! I loved reading about Trick and Cami in book one and we see them again in this one. But, this book is Jenna and Rusty's story.

The book starts off with some serious sexual tension going on due to the girls coming up with a scheme to withhold all sexual activity until after Cami's wedding. Cami read that the anticipation is supposed to make the end result explosive...and boy does it! Jenna and Rusty are very sexual people so to go without is torture for them! I was wondering if they would make it the whole time without jumping on each other.

Wild Child takes us from happy and hot to sad and WTF?
Rusty is so stubborn and because of his fathers abandonment he doesn't think anyone ever sticks around, including Jenna. He knows she wants more than what's available to her in their small town but he doesn't realize it's him she wants most. I wanted to smack him around until he got it together!

When tragedy strikes, everything changes. They are forced to go their separate ways. They love each other, but is that enough? Will they find their way back to each other where they belong?

Read Wild Child and find out.

Synopsis

Danny and Liv are back...

Danny loves Liv. He knows he loves her more than she loves him because she ran without a word when she saw their future mapped out before her. He knows he will never love anyone like he loved her and this time he doesn’t think he can move on.

Liv loves Danny. She knows she loves him more than he loves her because he broke her heart in the worst possible way, right when things were falling into place. She knows she will never love anyone like she loves him and this time she doesn’t think she can move on.

They needed a second chance because they just weren’t ready for their first, but when events changed everything between them, they discovered they were just human after all. Now Liv and Danny have to find a way to survive being hurt by each other.

They doubted, they underestimated and they did believe the worst, but only because they were too young the first time and too vulnerable the second time. But now they have changed and if they are not the same, surely things can only turn out differently?

My Review

I was so happy to be able to read the continuation of Liv and Danny's story. When we left them at the end of Just Human, I was heart broken for them. This couldn't have happened again, could it?

Even though they love each other and it's so obvious to us, they can't get away from the mis-communication and hurt feelings. These two are meant to be together but will they be able to put aside what they think they know and learn the truth?

Liv is stubborn and strong and independent and Danny...*swoon*, is what every man should aspire to be like.

Kerry Heavens is an excellent author who writes likeable characters that you would want to hang out with and be friends with. I loved Still Human and look forward to reading more from her in the future.

Beat of the Heart

By Katie Ashley

5 Latin Loveing, Panty Melting Stars!!!

BLURB:

Beat of the Heart (Runaway Train #2)
by Katie Ashley
After years of bad relationships and a cheating ex-fiancé, twenty-eight-year-old Mia Martinelli prefers healing her patients’ hearts on the Cardiac Care floor rather than risking having her heart broken again. But that all comes to a screeching halt when caring for the head roadie for Runaway Train puts her into the orbit of drummer and Latin Lover, AJ Resendiz. After a scorching weekend of steamy passion, Mia’s intention of getting out with her heart unscathed is challenged by the stud with the wicked sense of humor, especially when he wants to continue seeing her. But when the harsh reality of AJ’s hoard of female admirers sends her insecurities into overdrive, Mia bails, leaving him handcuffed to his bathroom shower.

AJ never imagined that after two weeks of the best sex and female companionship he’d ever experienced, he would need rescued by his band mates from his shower prison. Although he tries to forget the sensual brunette whose curves made his mouth water, AJ can’t get her out of his mind…or his heart. Months later when he finally seeks Mia for answers as to why she left, nothing could prepare him for their life-altering reunion.

Can AJ prove to Mia that regardless of the women after his body, his heart belongs only to her?

My Review

Katie Ashley has done it again! This may be her hottest book yet. AJ Resendiz, drummer for Runaway Train, is the Latin hottie we met in book one Music of the Heart.

You would think that being in a band, he would be living the player/asshole lifestyle but that is not him. AJ is one of the sweetest most caring guys. When Runaway Train's head roadie ends up in the hospital needing a bypass, AJ goes to visit him as soon as his schedule allows. He meets head nurse Mia Martenelli in a very  interesting way. Mia ends up rushing out of the room red faced. *Giggle*

AJ is relentless in getting Mia to agree to go on a date with him, but due to her past failed relationships, she is too afraid. However, once he convinces her, the sparks that fly are off the charts. They have such an intense connection not only in the bedroom but in regular banter as well. I loved them together!

Mia's self esteem is sadly non-existent which causes her to run much to AJ's dismay. Will he be able to convince her that she is everything he could ever want or will her past hurt get in the way of both of their happiness?

I loved this book. I loved catching up on the other band members as well and look forward to Rhy's story!

AJ and Mia’s First Meeting

As Frank went to work devouring a chili dog, Rhys jumped up on the ledge in front of the window, swinging his legs back and forth, while I plopped down into the heinously uncomfortable chair next to Frank’s bed.  We were just shooting the shit on all that had happened while he had been gone when the door swung open. Immediately, I got a swift kick in the pants of the most delicious kind. A tall, dark-haired, dark-eyed goddess of a nurse strode into the room. Through her standard blue scrubs, I detected she possessed every attribute that gave me instant wood—wide, curvy hips, thick thighs, a voluptuous ass, and a full, natural rack.

“Oh shit!” Frank exclaimed. His panicked gaze swept right and then left as if he were trying to think of a speedy getaway. I couldn’t imagine from the way his Angel of Mercy nurse looked, not to mention her genuinely caring expression, that she could possibly be worthy of such fear. He was acting like she was Nurse Ratched out of One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest or something.

She only smiled at his reaction. “Now Mr. Patterson, that’s not your usual greeting. You’re always so happy to see me.”

“I can see why,” Rhys muttered under his breath.

“No shit,” I replied.

“Er, uh…I’m sorry, Mia.” Frank gave her a reassuring smile. “I promise I’m very grateful for the care you have been giving me.”

“I’m glad to hear it.” Her gaze flicked over to Rhys and me. “You must be Frank’s grandsons. He said you were coming in from out of town.”

Frank chuckled. “Actually, those knuckleheads are my bosses.”

Mia’s dark brows popped up at his summation. “Really?”

With a nod, Frank said, “Yep, that’s AJ Resendiz and Rhys McGowan.” He gazed over at us. “Boys, this is the most amazing nurse any man could ever hope for, Mia Martinelli.”

“You’re such a flatterer, Mr. Patterson,” Mia replied, before giving Rhys and me a wave. “Oh wait, now I remember. You’re the guys my nursing partner was telling me about. The ones in the band.”

Pursing my lips into my signature smirk, I replied, “Well, we’re not just in any band. We’re in Runaway Train. We were nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammy’s last year.”

“I’m sorry, but I hadn’t heard of you before,” she replied, appearing genuinely apologetic.

Ouch. That statement was a different kick in the pants. I couldn’t remember the last time a chick hadn’t instantly recognized us or at least been utterly star-struck by being in our presence. I leaned forward in my chair. “Maybe you’ll give us a listen?”

She smiled. “Of course I will. It’s not every day I come into contact with a Grammy nominated band.”

“Thank you,” Rhys replied, giving Mia his own seductive smile. I fought the urge to knock it off his face.

“Maybe you could sign something for me?” she suggested.

My gaze honed in on her breasts, and I knew exactly where I wanted to sign. “Sure, I’d love to.”

Mia cleared her throat, and I snapped my gaze to hers. The expression on her face told me she knew exactly where my one track mind had gone. “Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of you bringing me a signed CD or—” Mia sniffed the air suspiciously. Her dark eyes bulged at the sight of the opened Varsity containers in front of Frank. “Mr. Patterson, please tell me that just three days after you underwent triple bypass that I am hallucinating the artery clogging food in front of you?”

Frank’s face turned the color of an overripe tomato at her admonishment. “Maybe,” he replied weakly.

Crossing her arms over her ample cleavage, Mia shook her head back and forth so fast I figured she would get whiplash. “How many times have we been over your diet since you were discharged from ICU?”

Cowering a little, Frank replied, “Several.”

“I’m so disappointed in you,” Mia admonished. Her wrathful gaze turned on Rhys and me. “Since this food didn’t materialize out of thin air, I suppose you two are to blame?”

“We just wanted to bring him his favorite food,” Rhys replied.

Mia’s eyes narrowed. “He just had by-pass surgery! He can’t eat stuff like this.”

I shrugged. “We didn’t know that.”

“Did you leave your brains in your guitar case?”

“I play the drums,” I corrected.

“Whatever,” Mia snapped. She grabbed Frank’s box of chili dogs and fries and slammed them into the trash. “I suppose you would think it was a good idea to take a bottle of champagne to someone just discharged from rehab, huh?” She started to swipe the drink off as well, but it bounced off the trash can lid and landed straight into my lap. Busting on impact, the ice cold orange soda coated my crotch, stinging like tiny daggers over my skin. “Fuck!” I shouted, leaping to my feet.

“Oh my God, I’m sorry,” Mia apologized.

What happened next could only be expressed as something out of a warped fantasy. With a wad of napkins in hand, Mia dropped to her knees before me—my dick eye-level with her gorgeous face. She began furiously toweling off the front of my jeans. It took all of two seconds for the visual, along with her ministrations, to have me at half-mast.

“Umm,” I began.

“Sorry, but this will stain if we don’t get it off.”

When I dared glancing over at Rhys, his hand covered mouth, smothering the laughter that caused his whole body to shake. Frank wore an expression of amused horror. Okay, so Florence Nightingale couldn’t take a hint. I guess I was going to have to make it as plain as I could. Leaning over, I whispered into Mia’s ear. “Carino, if you don’t stop with the rubdown, you’re going to make another mess to clean up. Inside my pants.”

She jerked her head up and stared into my eyes. I watched as the realization of my words, along with what she had been doing, washed over her. My breath hitched as waited for the usual signs of extreme mortification to follow—reddened cheeks, stammering speech, avoiding making eye contact. All the things that would make it easy for me to move in for the kill and have her in my bed by midnight.

But I got none of those.

Instead, Mia rose up and smacked the soggy napkins against my chest. As I fumbled to grasp them, she replied, “I’m so terribly sorry. I don’t know what came over me.” She then proceeded to give me a sickeningly, sweet smile—one that reminded me of Abby right before she gave one us a verbal smack-down. When she edged closer to me, I knew I was in for it and then some. She cocked one brown brow. “How terribly embarrassing and inconvenient it must be for you to have such a sensitivity problem down there. I mean, chicks expect a night of passion with Mr. Latin Lover, and they get mere seconds.” She made a tisking sound in the back of her throat. “Pity.”

My mouth gaped open, and instead of a witty, maybe even scathing, come-back, I could only open and close it like a dying fish out of water. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d been rendered completely speechless by a female outside of my mother and abuela.

Mia eyed me one final time before turning to Frank. “Mr. Patterson, I’ll be back to check on you on the hour,” she replied before quickly side-stepping me and stomping out the room.

When the door closed behind her, Rhys and Frank howled with laugher. “Holy shit, dude! I can’t believe what she just said to you!” Rhys exclaimed, wiping the tears from his eyes.

I stared momentarily at the closed door before a smile spread across my cheeks. “Now that, gentlemen, is the future Mrs. Resendiz, right there.”

By Gabbie S. Duran

4 Stars!

Synopsis:

She awoke with no memory of who she was, but one clue will lead her to him…

Abigail Adams had it all, she's a gorgeous supermodel, has a wealthy fiancé, and a career on the rise. But that quickly changes when she wakes up in the hospital not remembering anything. The only memories she does have are not her own, but of a total stranger.

When Abigail discovers that her fiancé has been cheating on her, she leaves him and runs to the arms of the one man she is hoping will give her the answers she seeks.

Matt Garcia is used to playing the field, keeping his heart guarded, but then Abigail Adams unexpectedly shows up at his door hoping he will be the answer she is looking for. Will he finally learn to take a break from his no strings attached lifestyle and show her that she doesn’t need her past, but the future he is willing to offer her?

With every unspoken memory she regains, will she learn to open up her heart to a total stranger, or will she keep it guarded like he does?

My Review

I loved this book for the most part. The characters were well written and captivating as well as aggravating at times. (MATTHEW, I'M LOOKING AT YOU BUSTER!)
It's told from Abigail's POV.

When Abigail Adams, famous super model, wakes up in the hospital from a bad fall down the stairs, she doesn't know why she is there or really who she is. The only thing she can remember is a phone number. When her creepy fiance/manager greets her at the hospital she knows he is no good, for a few reasons.  She is uncomfortable and just wants to be left alone. As she learns more about who she was, she realizes that she wasn't a nice person and never wants to be that way again.

She is having day and night dreams about a guy that might have a connection to her but she doesn't know his name. When she hires a PI to find info into her past and info about the person the phone number she remembers belongs to she decides to pay him a visit after her douchenozzle fiance shows his true colors.

The phone number belongs to one Matthew Garcia, a college senior who lives in Portland. When Matt answers the door, Abi is surprised to see the guy from her dreams standing in front of her. However, after learning that he has no idea who she is besides a famous super model she is really confused. Matt and his hunky roommate Trey end up being super protective of Abigail and they end up being not only close friends but roommates as well.

There is a definite connection between Abi and Matt, and just when you think that Matt may have given up his player ways, boom, sike! Ass! Ugh.

So what is the connection with Abi seeing Matt's face in her dreams? Will she ever get her memory back? And what about Matt and Abi  being more than friends? Read Unspoken Memories and find out.

Then keep a watch out for book two coming soon called Unspoken Promises.

*Note*- This book doesn't end in a cliffy but you know there is more to come. Hopefully more of Trey's story! Wink wink, nudge, nudge, Gabbie!

Bonus Scene (Matt's POV)

Hotel scene when Abigail finally wakes up next to Matt.

Matt’s POV:

I feel her stir, but I stay laying there, holding onto her, hoping she’ll go back to sleep because I really don’t want to let her go. She feels so good in my arms, exactly where I love having her. I normally get up before her and leave her alone in bed, not wanting to give in to my lust of taking her right there and then. This time I don’t think that’s going to happen unless she goes back to sleep because I’ve got a boner that isn’t blamed on a normal morning wood. Nope, it’s from knowing that I’m lying in bed with the most beautiful girl that has ever walked into my life.

After seeing just how sexy she looked last night, I’m surprised with myself for not taking her right there in the club. I was tempted, so damn tempted. Trust me, I was using every ounce of my will power to not take her right there on the fucking dance floor with all the body contact we had last night.

Feeling her stir again, I stay still as I hold her tighter. I start to slowly rub her back, hoping it will help put her back to sleep. She’d better go back to sleep or else I just might have to put an end to both our sexual frustration.

I feel her body tense up all of a sudden and I’m pretty sure she’s realized she’s not alone in bed. “Morning beautiful.” I whisper into her ear.

She rapidly sits up and even though I can’t see her face, I know she’s panicking right now. Then I start to take in her naked back; knowing just how silky smooth her skin feels against mine. I want to feel again. She finally turns around to look at me and I stare into her pretty eyes, the eyes that I fell in love with.
“What happened last night?” she asks me with a confused look on her face.

I sit up and wrap my arm around her waist to bring her body once again against mine. Tucking her head against my neck like she loves. I’ve known for a while that she likes it and I’m not complaining. I laugh, thinking about it.

“Calm down. You were passed out by the time I got out of the bathroom. I didn’t think it was fair to have to sleep on the couch when this bed is big enough for the both of us. Although, as usual, you do like to hog the covers.” I tell her.

“We didn’t do anything did we?” I could hear the hesitation in her voice when she says it.
Shit, if we had done something I would be just as excited, but unfortunately I was a very good boy last night. I don’t know if I could take it anymore though.
Wanting to feel her I start to rub my hands against her smooth skin again, rubbing her legs with my thumb. It’s the simplest of contact, but the heat of the touch as I make contact runs all the way up my hand. Satisfying me.
“As much as I would have loved to do something with you last night, I want to make sure we both remember, if it ever happens.” I tell her, not being to keep the want from my voice.

She surprises me by rubbing herself against my body and I feel her wetness against my leg. Making my cock strain to life. I close my eyes, trying to control the hunger I have for her right now. The only thing keeping me from spreading her legs and thrusting my hardened cock deep into her, making her scream my name is my fucking underwear. I knew when I fell asleep I had better leave them on, keeping a barrier between us.
“Abigail, you don’t know what you’re asking for right now.” I growl at her.
She starts to kiss the skin of my neck, fucking driving me insane. All the pent up sexual need I’ve had for her for the last couple of months is going to make me blow my load right now if I don’t get her under control.

Wanting to feel her, I stick my finger into her pussy, savoring just how warm and wet she is for me. Her moan alone is heaven as I spread her further with another finger.
“Damn, beautiful, you’re so wet and warm.” I whisper into her ear, wanting her to know just how much I love touching her.
Needing to take control, I pull my fingers from her pussy and throw her onto her back, straddling her body. I don’t usually do this, but with Abigail, I’ve come to learn everything is different. I’m staring down at her beautiful face, admiring how sexy she looks right now. Taking her hands and locking them above her head, making her beautiful breast thrust up towards me. Her whole body is like a feast for me. One I plan to take and devour very slowly.

As I run my hand down her body, feeling the heat radiating from it, it’s electrifying every nerve in my fingertips. I bring my mouth down to her ear to take it into my mouth, teasing it completely like she likes. Grabbing onto to her breast, I massage it slowly, wanting to enjoy the feel of her tender flesh.
“Matt please, I can’t take it any more.” She begs.
Knowing that if I don’t take it slow I might end up hurting her, I focus on her sweet little sounds she makes as I touch her body. Wanting to hear more, I move my mouth down her body. From her neck, to the valley of the breast, then finally taking a nipple into my mouth, sucking it with no boundaries. When I move onto the other, her moans increase, making me want more.

I feel her try to wiggle her way from under me, but I tighten my legs and keep her locked in place. Needing to move lower, I finally let go of her arms and make my way down her body. She lets out a giggle, reminding me that she’s ticklish. “I forgot that you’re ticklish.” I say to her as I look into her eyes.

Taking both of her hands, I hold them down at her sides to keep her from moving them along my body. The contact of her touch alone was not helping me keep control of my body. Wanting to taste her, I run my tongue along her stomach and her body taste so delicious. I can’t fucking wait to know just how sweet her juices are going to taste inside my mouth as I make her come.
“Matt, you in there fucker?” Trey yells, banging on the door. “Get the fuck up, we gotta go!”
“Fuck.” Abigail groans in frustration and I know exactly how she feels as my cock cries in desperation, knowing that I’m not going to get to finish what I started.
I chuckle at her reaction, “Sorry beautiful, I have to go.” I tell her, not knowing what else to say.

I quickly jump off the bed and search for my clothes, hoping the distraction will allow my cock to calm down. There’s no way I’m going to survive Trey mocking me if I walk out of here with a fucking boner.
I walk over to the door and take one last look at her, not able to resist myself. “See you at home beautiful.” I say, as I wink at her before I leave the bedroom.
The look on her face as I left hurt deep down inside of me. I walk away, realizing that Trey’s perfect timing is a blessing in disguise. There’s now way I would have been able to walk away from Abigail once I’ve entered her, which would have made me miss the flight home. As much as I need to blow my load, it’s just going to have to wait until I get back. Which couldn’t come fast enough.

Finding You

By S.K. Hartley

4 Stars!

My Review

Grrrrrrrrr! What the hell just happened? I don't
know if I've ever wanted to slap a book hoe more! The thing is Neva isn't really a hoe, but a REALLY confused girl with a messed up view of things. When he father was killed by a drunk driver when Neva was ten, her life was never the same. His death has affected everything. The fact that she can't drive because she is too scared, the fact that she hides the real her from everyone except her brother and his best friend Logan.

Logan...*sigh*; Logan has always been there for Neva ever since they were kids. He is the one who has protected her from her nightmares and made sure she was safe. But now they are older, in college, and they aren't kids anymore.

When they both realize the attraction they have towards each other I was jumping up and down excited, as I love a best friends to lovers type of story but then my joy came to a screeching halt. When Neva meets Angel she is drawn to him as well.

This is when I started getting super aggravated. Neva needs to make a decision on which boy she wants to really be with.  She comes up with this insane reasoning instead of listening to her best friend. I thought I might be leaning towards Team Angel...until the end, now I'm pretty sure I'm Team Logan.

This book is told from Neva's POV and has a cliffhanger ending. I knew something like the ending would happen...just not quite like that. As agitated as Neva made me I still need to find out what happens and who she will ultimately choose. The bad boy who makes her forget her past but doesn't really know her or the one who knows her inside and out and has always been there.

I look forward to book two hopefully coming soon!

Excerpt

Ten white petals...
Thud.
One yellow centre...
Thud.
One...thud. Two...thud. Three...thud.
I can feel hands around my throat, my breathing becoming shallow as I try to scream on the inside, not knowing if my own nightmare filled with the demons of my past will kill me while I sleep. My heartbeat roaring as it pounded relentlessly, leaving a ringing sensation in my ears. The smell of antiseptic so potent against my nostrils suddenly hit me, it was so strong that I could taste it in the back of my throat. The pressure around my neck slackened enough for me to get my bearings, I was back on the bridge again, pinned to the wooden slabs by someone or something I couldn't see nor describe. There was no where to go, I was trapped on the bridge that lead to no where, keeping me forever in the darkness, never to see the light again.
I could taste the fear in my throat drowning out the antiseptic, I could feel my fear pouring into my gut as my body absorbed it, it was in my bones, in my soul. The fear in the air caused me to look back at demon above me, a black and smoky silhouette figure towering over my tiny frame, I could never make out who or what the demon was, but I knew I should fear it.
The grip around my neck tightened once more, my hands trying to reach for anything to help free me, but there was nothing, there was always nothing. I could see the bridge clearly but I could never feel it against my skin, just the subconscious pressure of it against my back, a mixture of pressure and the feeling of floating.
“Stop, please. No!” I wanted to scream but my vision was becoming blurred as my head swam with weightlessness. Images projected against the dark shadow of the demon above me, a car severely damaged, flashing blue lights and screaming, organized chaos.
I thought I was going to die, I was ready just to let go, but I never died in my nightmares, I just hung on the edge, the demon making me remember.
Suddenly the nightmare slowly started to release me, the twisted dark depths of my past slowly fading into a painful reminder of what was cruelly taken, what I would never get back.
Thud...my heart slamming against my chest.
Thud...my throat constricting tightly.
Thud...my lungs burning with every breath.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
My lids were heavy, so heavy that I didn't think I could open my eyes.
"Come back to me" A familiar soothing voice wrapped around around my mind, trying to release me of my own painful imprisonment.
I tried desperately to speak to the voice, wanting them to pull me out from the torture that held me captive within my own mind, my tongue heavy and my mouth dry. My skin becoming saturated with sweat, my toes curling as if in pain, my heart heavy with unrelenting sadness.
The light was almost to much to bare as I finally managed to open my eyes, squinting as the light penetrated my pupils, burning right through me. There was a figure above me once more, but it wasn't dark and twisted like the demons in my nightmares, it was home. I'm home.

I have had many questions about the series so this should help answer your questions. Please know I have planned this series out and any unresolved issues in TORN will be resolved by the series end - I promise! But if anyone chooses to not read past TORN they should be happy with the ending.
  1. Connected - River and Dahlia
  2. Torn - River and Dahlia (and Ben)
  3. Mended - Xander and Ivy
  4. Frayed - Ben and Bell
  5. Flawed - Zane and Aerie
  6. Perfected - A giant epilogue with a twist of course

My Review:

Note: If you haven't read Connected (Book 1), you really need to before reading Torn (Book 2).

Torn starts off right where we left off at the end of Connected...remember that cliff hanger? Of course you do. Well, the wait is over. Happy Dance!

There isn't a lot I can say that won't spoil this one for you. Dahlia is shocked to find out that Ben is alive. When she see's him again she is confused and angry and she has many questions that she needs answered. Ben, conceited man that he is, thinks he will just walk right back into Dahlia's life like he hasn't been gone for three years. Ugh. He really pissed me off when he got angry at River for trying to take care of Dahlia. Hello, you decided to leave WITHOUT her! What do you expect?

"Bitterness rushes through me. Is he kidding me? I am not going to forgive him. He made his choice, he left me all alone, and now that I'm happy he thinks we can just go back to the way we were. Well we can't. And even if we could...I don't want to."

Dahlia and River's love is so much stronger than Dahlia and Ben's was. I think that she was comfortable with Ben but he isn't who she is supposed to end up with.

Dahlia is heartbroken to find out that so many people knew who her attacker was and no one told her. She eventually understands why but running away seems like the best choice at first. Once she realizes their good intentions she calms down and comes home.

River, oh be still my heart, of course he is going to be leary now that Ben has returned. He wants to believe that Dahlia loves only him now but the circumstances make him question the strength of their relationship.

"I want to believe your love is only for me. That your lips are mine. That your kisses are meant for me. That your body belongs to me."

Torn will take you through twists and turns and pull your insides out. It will leave you on the edge of your seat desperately waiting to see if Dahlia and River are meant to me or if they will be torn apart forever.

I LOVE this series and I can't wait to read more about the other characters stories in the future.

Truth or Dare

By Ember Casey

4 1/2 Stars!

Blurb:

After their passionate, heated weekend at the Cunningham estate, Lily and Calder have decided to take their relationship to the next level. But love in the real world isn’t all fun and games—especially when it becomes clear that Calder still harbors his share of secrets.
When Calder suggests they hold off on sex for a while, Lily knows something is seriously wrong—and she’s not afraid to pull out the big guns. She makes Calder a proposal he can’t refuse: an ongoing match of Truth or Dare that she hopes will bring them closer together both physically and emotionally.
But as the contest increases in intensity, so do the stakes, and suddenly Lily and Calder have to face the question they’ve both been avoiding: what sort of relationship do they have when they strip away all the games?

My Review

I loved this book! If you haven't read His Wicked Games, book one, you need to do that first. Truth or Dare, book two, starts off a few weeks after Lily left Calder's estate. They are going to give dating a go and see how it is...however Calder's cold and hot attitude towards Lily isn't cutting it. Lily knows Calder is fighting an inner battle from all the Cunningham scandal news. She wants desperately to be there for him but he won't talk to her. Instead he shuts down and turns away from her. Lily can't help but read all the press that's come out touting their speculations about the fall of the Cunningham wealth. She doesn't want to believe any of it but is Calder hiding something from her? What is the real story behind everything that's happened? Why won't he talk to her? She does the only thing she can that she knows will possibly work, starts a game of Truth or Dare. But, will it work, or just makes things worse?

Ember Casey has a way with words. She has a way with drawing the reader in and bringing them into the pages as if they were a part of the story. She also has a gift for writing the steam! *fans self*

Read this series and become a fan of Ember Casey as well.

Who We Are

Book 2 (Fire Nine Series)

Blurb:

“I thought I had gone through something much worse. I

thought the abuse and pain from my mom and step-dad

was bad, but this? This heartache? This pain? This

depression? This gut-wrenching, heartbreaking moment?

This knotted up feeling in my gut, the tightness in my

throat, the ache in my chest? It was slowly but surely

killing me.”
Eight months.
That’s how long it’s been since Eliza last saw Gage and

they both feel as if they don’t deserve one another’s

forgiveness. He screwed up. She walked away without

looking back. They’ll try and make up all the time they’ve

lost with one another, that is until they’re facing the

choices of either going their separate ways, or hanging on

and fighting for dear life.
The fights will be endless. They heartache will be real.

The demons will return, and they won’t back down without

a fight.
There are some who will do anything to keep true love

apart, and those same people will dig deep into their

demonic ways until Eliza and Gage are literally no more.

Can Eliza and Gage overcome it all? Will they be able to

face the true demons that are seeking to destroy them?

Or will they just forget about everything they’ve worked

so hard for and go their separate ways?
Sometimes you have to go through struggles in order to

reach an ultimate point of peace… but will their struggle

be worth it?

My Review:

Who We Are starts off eight months after Eliza left Gage on his knees begging her not to leave. Eight months and she still thinks about him constantly but she knows she has to move on. She knows she has goals to complete and a career to get started.

Gage is angry but most of all he is still broken hearted and he isn't afraid to let Eliza know it when they see each other again. Because of a certain evil twatwaffle person, everything is confused and twisted. Things aren't always what they seem and Gage and Eliza finally talk things out. Eliza decides to give it a go with Gage again, however, right when they are about to get their happy the bitch rears her ugly head. Penelope made me so angry! Gage made me so angry not standing up to her! I sort of understand why he made the choices he did. I think two years is a little long to get it together though. Read it and see if Eliza and Gage are meant to have a happily ever after or if they are destined to be apart.

This book will frustrate you, make you yell, tear up, laugh, and well, yell some more. I love this series and I can't wait for book three, Roy's story!

Cole

Book Two in the Leaves Series

5 Stars!

Blurb:
Cole Carlyle, successful hotelier, has lived his life on his own terms.
Burned by a gold digging ex-wife, he never expected to find his soul mate in Anika “Inky” Redding.
Anika Redding, talented artist, overcame her past to live her life free of shame. Betrayed by people she thought she could trust, the last thing she expected was to find true love in Cole Carlyle.

Their love for each other has helped them overcome their demons before, but now faced with an unimaginable challenge, Cole must turn to the last person he wants involved in his life, and hope that those demons don’t once again try to swallow them whole.

Inky and Cole’s romance and passion ignite and in the sequel to “Inky” we follow their journey to overcome their pasts once and for all, while building their love into something everlasting.

My Review

J.B. Hartnett offered us a gem with book one, Inky, and didn't disappoint with book two, Cole. At the end of book one we were left on the edge of our seats with a big cliff hanger. Thankfully, we didn't have to wait long to read the continuation of this story.

Holy wow! I loved this book! From the beginning, we are once again brought to the brink. The first few chapters are intense and I was furiously flipping through the pages eager to find out how it would end.

Cole is forced to ask for help from the one person he can't stand, his father. He is desperate to help Inky and will do anything in his power to save her. Tensions are high between father, son, and mother. I LOVE Cole! He is what every man should aspire to be like. The 10 second conversations Cole and Inky had were heartbreaking and heart melting. Their love is so strong, you just knew they had to make though this.

"When I wake up, it’s to his kiss on my forehead. He tells me

I’m beautiful every day. He’s gentle with me. He knows my pain

and I know his, and neither one of us is afraid to swim through

the darkness of the other. The world could be falling down

around us, but together we would be impenetrable. He is the other

half of my heart, the other half of my soul….without him, I’m

incomplete.” - Anika

Roadside Service

By B.L. Wilde

3 1/2 Stars

Cover By Jo Matthews
Genre: Erotica

Blurb:

When fate brings you face-to-face with what your heart desires, how can you ignore it?

Violet Weathers, the world’s top supermodel, is in Omaha, Nebraska for two weeks shooting a campaign for a new skincare line that she’s the fresh new face of.

When her car breaks down on the way to the hotel, she is rescued by a hot mechanic who just might make her stay in Omaha more bearable.

My Review:

If you are looking for a quick read with big heat, then Roadside Service is what you need. This book is a short novella about Violet Weathers, a super model, who breaks down on the side of the road in Omaha, where she is filming for a skincare line. When she walks into the nearest mechanic for help, the man who greets her is a pleasant surprise.  Blake doesn't realize who Violet is which makes Violet like him even more because it means he is attracted to her for her not her fame. What follows is two weeks of Violet working during the day and Blake in her bed at night. Everything is fun and easy...but then it's time for Violet to leave for Paris Fashion Week. Is two weeks enough for them or do they want more out of this rendezvous?
I would have liked a little more character depth and I thought the relationship was really rushed but for a novella but it worked. Perhaps there will be a book 2 and we can see what happens next for these two.

                             My Review

There are some books that you read and you can put down and wait until later to finish reading and then there are other books, like this one, that you MUST.FINISH.READING.NOW! No matter how late it is. I did not want to put this one down even if it would make me a grizzly bear the next day.

Piper goes out one night with her girlfriends and they decide to go balls to the wall with drinking as much as they can. Piper notices she is being checked out from across the room by a very hot man. One thing leads to another and hello bathroom scene! Holy hell was that hot!

Piper is starting a new job as a personal assistant to an author with a horrid reputation for being..well, an asshole. Because of his demeanor, he can't keep an assistant employed for long. No one is willing to put up with him until Piper. However, once she walks into the coffee shop where they meet for the first time, they are both taken aback to see each other. The hot bathroom one night stand comes back to bite.

Tate Donovan is a grumpy self centered man. As soon as he see's that his new assistant is Piper, he fires her right away. Weenie! He doesn't like conflict or the way he can't stop thinking about the woman, her, from the other night. Piper ends up not taking his crap and their working relationship begins.

The sexual tension between these two characters had me getting all hot and bothered. One minute they are fine, then they are arguing, and the tension is in the air the whole time.

"What are you doing?" Piper flattened herself against the door as Tate tilted his head toward her.
"Thinking," he said distracted.
"About what?" Her heart pounded and she was finding it harder to breathe.
His lips whispered across hers.
"Kissing you." He dragged his lips down the slope of her jaw to her neck.
"Tasting you." When he reached the curve of her shoulder his hand dipped between her legs and cupped her.
"Fucking you," he whispered...

Whew! *fans self* See what I mean?

They try so hard to fight each other, but how long until they give in?

This is a fantastic steamy love story about two people who have been hurt in the past but come together and find love.

Blog Tour - Review

4 Stars!!!

Synopsis:

Madison Waters knew exactly what she wanted to do with her life. She was already working for one of the most prestigious law firms in Boston as a research assistant, and in a few short months, she would finally graduate from Harvard and collect her law degree. Everything Madison had worked so hard for, was well within her reach.

But when Madison has to take an unexpected trip back home, she's blindsided by the one thing she'd never planned on.

Desperate to escape his wicked past, Holden Brooks moved to Madison's hometown five years ago. It was a struggle at first, but he eventually overcame the demons that nearly destroyed him back in Texas. Holden is in a good place in his life and love is the very last thing on his mind.

Everything changes the moment their two paths collide and they soon find out, fate has a plan of its own.

You never know when love will come along and change...everything.

My Review:

Madison Waters is a law student who loves her new life. She works for a prestigious law firm in Boston and great things are ahead for her. However, when he father has a heart attack and she is forced to come home to help her mother. She isn't expecting to meet a hot hunky cowboy named Holden Brooks.

Holden has put his troubled past behind him in Texas and has made a fresh start in Madison's home town helping out her parents on their farm and working in his cousin's bar at night. When they meet for the first time (giggle) there is an instant attraction, but Holden is happy with the way his life is and doesn't need any distractions and Maddie has worked hard for her success and doesn't want to side step from that.

He can't seem to let her go but Madison has other plans for her life. When true love comes around, you stick around no matter what. Will Maddie?

This is K. Langston's debut novel and I think she did a fantastic job writing a sweet and hot and steamy love story with great characters that sucked me in. I look forward to much more from this author including Book 2 in this series, Until You're Mine. ( Archer's story)

Author Bio:

I've worked in property management for the last decade. Married to my soul mate and gentle giant for 12 years, the man has never been, nor will he ever be, the romantic type. However, we still have a very passionate marriage and we love each other fiercely. We have two beautiful children who drive us absolutely insane, but we love them dearly and we are certain our life would suck without them.

I love music. I have a broad range of taste so I listen to all genres, but I love country the most.

Most of my friends and family will tell you that I'm a bit loud. I take that back...I'm very LOUD. I tend to always say what others are thinking and I never sugarcoat anything.

Writing has given me the release I've been craving all of these years. An outlet to express myself the way I want to, the way I need to. It's like therapy for me and my life was forever changed the moment I typed that first line.

Excerpt:

For the next four hours I was focused and alert. The crowd was getting thick but it was nothing I couldn’t handle. I tried not to think about her, only to wonder why I wasn’t thinking about her, and then in turn leading me to think about her. It was a pleasant mind fuck to say the least. The woman was literally making me crazy. Getting sucked into my own head, I never had a chance to prepare myself for what happened next.
Maddie walked into Archer’s.
I take that back.
Maddie floated into Archer’s. It felt like the air had been sucked out of the whole goddamn bar and my knees wobbled due to the lack of oxygen traveling to my brain.
Yep, they fucking wobbled.
She walked towards the bar slowly with ease and grace, looking perfectly confident and impossibly fucking beautiful. It was difficult to pull my eyes away from her. My hands itched to know if her legs were as soft as the cotton dress she wore. The one that swished across her creamy thigh with every step she took.
Sweet fucking hell…it swished.
Madison Waters could very well be described as every country boy’s dream. Well, this country boy anyway. Every swinging dick in her path had their eyes on her. My pulse quickened and my teeth felt like they could crush granite as jealousy washed over me. If one of them even thought about touching her, I’d lose my fucking shit. The overwhelming need to prevent that from happening had my feet moving in her direction.
Hoisting her sweet ass up onto the empty bar stool, she crossed her delicate arms in front of her. Merging with a shadow on a nearby wall, I stood back and observed as she rifled through her small purse. Then she studied her phone, oblivious to the predators lurking nearby. As I knew it would, it didn’t take long before the first wolf descended.

Before the Storm

By Sarah Dosher

Blog Tour- Review and Tour Wide Giveaway

5 Stars!!!

Blurb:

This is not a simple story of first loves, this is an emotional yet touching look at life and how the smallest decisions can shape futures.

What you think you know can change before your eyes. Fathers abuse, mothers deceive, best friends betray, sisters dismiss, love controls, and anger consumes.

After graduating from high school, Easton Grace knows exactly what he wants and how to get it. His goal for the summer includes two things: avoiding his father’s wrath and protecting his sister. His carefully laid plans are quickly changed when a girl comes to town causing him to lose his tight grasp of control on everything, including himself.

Following years of sorrow, Taylor Monaco returns to a town she never wanted to see again but will forever call home. Her life was eternally changed by the people in this town, especially one boy. Her heart desires someone she’s not sure her soul can handle.

Can Easton and Taylor find their path before it’s too late - before

the storm?

My Thoughts

I loved this series!!!

Before the Storm goes back and forth with past and present day events. Easton made it his job to protect his sister from their abusive father and closed off mother. Their family dynamic broke my heart but they got through it with the help of their friends and Dean's grandmother.

When Taylor comes to visit her aunt one summer she meets Easton. Easton wants to be her friend but he ends up hurting her unintentionally and she is left heartbroken when she leaves.
Fast forward to Easton's high school graduation. He see's a beautiful dark haired girl that he is sure he knows, but he can't remember from where. Once he realizes who she is things change. The attraction is still there full force but Taylor harbors anger from how things ended before.
This is a story about two people who suffer from the same kind of past and pain coming together to relate. Sarah Dosher writes beautifully about forgiveness, strength, and love.
This book is the prequel to Haven Before the Storm- Dean and Lilly's story. However, they are meant to be read in the order the author states.

Freeing
( A Companion Novel to Fading)

By E.K. Blair

Blog Tour- Review, Alt POV, & Giveaway

5 Stars!!!

Synopsis:

FREEING: a companion novel to the USA Today bestseller, Fading.

Knowing who you are and accepting who you are come at different prices.

Jase Kinrick grew up in your typical, all-American household. But after the death of his sister, his parents shut down, forcing him to deal with everything life throws his way alone. Terrified of the person he’s discovering himself to be, Jase has his way with every willing girl to try and rid himself of what he fears he is—gay.

Escaping California and moving to Seattle to attend the University of Washington, Jase frees himself to the reality that he likes men. Never staying with any guy long enough to get to know them, he doesn’t realize that he’s still hiding from who he is until he meets Mark. Scared of having real feelings for another guy stirs up the questions and fears he’s fought hard to bury.

To strip away the barriers to the heart of what is real, and to be okay with what lies underneath, will be Jase’s moment of truth. But he’ll need Mark to lead him there.

My Thoughts

E.K. Blair has written another fantastic book that left me an emotional mess. Freeing is a companion novel not a sequel to Fading. I would recommend reading Fading first so that you get the whole experience of this series.

This is Jase's story. I found myself tearing up all over again as Jase helped Candace through her whole ordeal. However, this wasn't the same story as before so we get more Jase, more Mark, more awesome. Freeing is about Jase's quest to find self love. How is anyone supposed to accept him if he can't accept his true self. But, what is his true self? Is he gay? Is he straight?

After his sister died his parents shut down and shut him out. He was alone. He moves to Seattle to go to school and get away from home. The only person who truly gets him is Candace. When he tries to come out to his parents things don't go well. To prevent himself from getting hurt or to get too involved he screws up every relationship he's ever had.

When Jase meets Mark he wants to be better but he's scared. Can Jase have a real relationship with another man without screwing it up? Read Freeing and follow his journey as he finds out the true meaning of being free.

*Warning* - This book has a M/M relationship and sexual activity. If that isn't your thing then you can choose to not read or be open minded, read it, and fall in love with this book.

Alt POV

(Candace Needs Solace)
My head is completely aloof from my sleeping pill. I know I shouldn’t be driving right now, but I just can’t be alone. Lying in my room in the darkness, all I can see is him. All I can hear is his voice. It’s too much, and I need the comfort of my friend right now. I need to be in his hold. To feel safe in his bed.
When the elevator stops on Jase’s floor, I step out and head to his apartment. Quietly unlocking his door, I walk through the darkness to his room. I stop when I see he’s not alone. Suddenly, I feel like an intrusion—selfish.
Going back into the living room, leaving Mark and Jase be, I sit on the couch. I’m still shaking from the fear that was able to overtake me back at my house. Alone. I feel it now. I’m desperately needy, and I’m all alone. It’s selfish of me to think that I can keep coming over here for Jase. Taking from him to comfort myself.
I tuck my knees under my chin as the tears start to flood and spill over. As quietly as I can manage, I cry. I release the loneliness and sadness that begins to consume me. Resting my forehead on my knees, I weep softly. I couldn’t hold it in even if I tried. I can’t be by myself, but I feel like I can’t be here either.
The cushion dips down and when I look up, Mark is next to me. His expression hurts, I hate it. Pity. He would never admit to it, but I see it so clearly. I don’t want him to feel sorry for me, but I don’t have the strength to pull myself together right now. I need support, so I don’t even speak when I lean into him as he folds me up in his arms.
In a weird way, a way I can’t explain, the pain swells and abates at the same time. My cries grow harder as Mark holds me and whispers in my ear that it’ll be okay. I don’t believe him. It can’t be. I wonder if it will ever be.
He allows me to let go in his arms, all the while, never loosening his tight hold on me.
I need it.
It’s my safety.
Time passes when he eventually speaks. “Wanna talk about it?”
Lifting my head from his chest, I see Jase sitting in the chair next to the couch Mark and I are on. He gives me a slight nod before I turn my attention back to Mark and whisper, “I’m sorry. I . . . I just didn’t want to be alone, but . . . I guess I just didn’t think you’d be here. I’m not used to Jase having a boyfriend.” Not knowing what to say to explain my sudden appearance here in the middle of the night, I close my eyes and simply admit, “I’m just so tired.”
“I know,” is all he says when he tucks me under his chin and holds me again.
Before I know it, I am being lifted into Jase’s arms. He hugs me before taking my hands and leading me to his bed. The three of us crawl in.
I finally feel it.
Settled in between the two of them, wrapped in my friends’ arms, I’m protected. If only for this moment—I can breathe.

Alexandre’s dark and dysfunctional past makes him crave stability and a normal relationship, but he soon finds out that Pearl is a bird with a broken wing. Why, he isn’t sure.

Pearl, follows Arianne Richmonde’s bestselling books in The Pearl Trilogy: Shades of Pearl, Shadows of Pearl and Shimmers of Pearl; the tumultuous and heart-rending love story between forty-year-old documentary producer, Pearl Robinson, and French Internet billionaire, Alexandre Chevalier, fifteen years her junior.

Pearl is written from Alexandre’s point of view from the moment they first meet on a rainy summer’s day in a coffee shop in New York City.

In any relationship details are hidden; things are left unsaid.
Not all conversations are remembered in the same way.
And not all actions are disclosed—especially to the one you love most.

This book (Part 1 of 2) is approximately 53,000 words long, just over 200 printed pages.   Part 2 is scheduled for release in October.

Because of Alexandre Chevalier’s prowess in the bedroom, this novel contains erotic content and strong language.
Intended for readers aged 18 and over.

My Thoughts

There are always two sides to every story. This is Alexandre's POV. A completely different account of how it all happened. We learn about Alexandre's love for women, and then his desire for Pearl, how he grew up, and his rise to billionaire status. Even his version of how they met is interesting. This is a must read!!!

I would recommend reading The Pearl Trilogy first so that you are in the loop and not missing anything.

Follow Alexandre's journey and read the obstacles he faces once he decides he only wants Pearl and no others.

I can't wait for book two of Alexandre's journey to see what happens next.

Beneath Your Beautiful

By Tamsyn Bester

Blog Tour- Review, Excerpt, and Giveaway

5 STARS!!!

Blurb:

On the outside, Huntley Morgan is your typical girl-next-door, with her long blonde hair and piercing blue eyes, and that’s exactly what she wants people to see. Her name exposes her to the demons of her past but remembering her reason for moving across the country to start over is what keeps her alive. For the first time since the brutal murder of her mother, Huntley allows herself to care about the people around her.
Grayson Carter has everything a 21yr old College Senior could wish for – he’s the star of Whitley University’s football team, he has a different girl willing to be in his bed every night and a supportive family. For years he has managed keep his family together and hide their dark secrets from the small town of Breckinridge, Alabama.
When Huntley and Grayson meet, a force so strong pulls them together in a hurricane of feelings neither of them could have ever anticipated. Huntley and Grayson try to stay away from each other, but when Huntley’s demons seek her out, their pasts become the biggest storm of all.
Will they learn to trust each other and build a new future together or will they simply do nothing to prevent history from repeating itself?

My Thoughts

Beneath Your Beautiful is an exceptional book. When I found out that this was the authors debut novel I was floored. Tamsyn Bester's writing pulls you from your seat and takes you head first into the story. While reading this amazing book I felt like I was a part of the story, going on the journey along with the characters.

Huntley Morgan and Grayson Carter have each suffered their own heartbreak in the past. Huntley continues to be caught up in the drama and it's taking its toll on her stress level. Grayson's back and forth attentiveness isn't helping things. The first time Grayson see's Huntley he is surprised by how drawn he feels toward her, not only her beauty, but something else is there too. He has been hurt in the past and isn't willing to risk heartbreak again, but can he resist forever?

I fell in love with this emotional wonderful story about family, friends, and love. Read it and you will too.

Excerpt

“You’re not what I was expecting,” Huntley says shifting in her seat to face me. The comment is blunt and completely unexpected, pulling me straight out of my dippy thoughts.
“Oh yeah?” I quip sarcastically, “Why’s that?”
I’m dying to know what people have told her about me. Probably about what a play boy I am or how I party too much or maybe how I have a new girl on my arm every night. Stupid rumors piss me off so much I’ve never really wasted any time negating them. But I wish I had, just so that Huntley won’t have any reason to believe them.
“I’ve heard things,” she doesn’t look me in the eye and I hate it. Clearly she’s already made up her mind about me. I hate that too.
“I’m sure you have,” I growl, shaking my head. My tone is less kind than I intend but it makes me furious to know that someone has taken the time to deprecate Huntley’s opinion of me before she’s had the chance to even know me. I guess this is all part of keeping secrets and why I refuse to get attached to anyone.
I jump out my truck and slam my door, pulling my fingers through my hair while I take in the warm air. I hear the passenger door close but I don’t look back at Huntley, afraid I’ll snap at her for shit other people have said. I squelch the urge to yell and release my frustration the way a toddler would.
“I’m sorry.” Her voice is soft and tiny. I snap my head back and frown. Before she can look up, I walk the few steps between us and cage her in against my truck. She looks scared, like I might hurt her, but when her eyes find mine I see nothing but warmth and benevolence in their boundless sapphire-colored depths.
In that moment I feel naked, like she can see my soul stripped bare of its impurities and imperfections. I don’t like that it makes me feel vulnerable and completely exposed to the derision I know will follow when she sees the ugly secrets that keep me awake night after night.
I take the chance to inhale her scent. Leaning in a little closer, I drag my nose along her shoulder, getting as close as possible without touching her. The edges of my mouth turn up, forming a smile, when I find that I’m right. She does smell like strawberries. And vanilla. It’s a heady combination that I’m going to become addicted to very quickly.
“I won’t hurt you,” I whisper, “But I think it’s best if we stay away from each other.”
Hurt flickers across her features and it’s like a punch to the stomach. “What made you think I was interested Grayson?” she bites back. She has a fire inside her. I see it. I feel it. And it’s sexy.
“Oh, I know you are,” I know it’s arrogant but I’m hoping my cocky attitude will repulse her enough to make her stay away.
A car pulls up to the curb, making us both shift apart. I cringe when my body immediately misses the heat that radiated off of her in waves.
Her back straightens and she squares her shoulders, pushing off my truck. “Goodbye Grayson.” Her back turns to me and I watch her get into Demi’s red Lexus and drive away. I should’ve kept my mouth shut until Demi got here. That would’ve been the smart thing to do.

My Thoughts

Wow. I just finished this book and now I'm trying to gather my thoughts together. This book was definitely an original. The writing was flawless and the story grabbed my attention from the get-go. I did not want to put the book down when household and family responsibilities were calling and I was eager to pick it right back up where I left off.

This is a story about past mistakes, regret, questions, answers,
and trying to figure out what went wrong in a marriage between two people who seemed to adore each other. Kaye has looked up to and almost worshiped Samuel ever since they were kids. As they grew older they experienced all their firsts together.

"First kiss.
First date.
First time.
First marriage.
First love.
First everything, to their detriment."

Everything was going well in their marriage, or so it seemed, but when Kaye comes home one afternoon and Samuel tells her he is leaving alone to go to New York and can't be married to her anymore, she is shocked and completely heartbroken.

Kaye has held onto her anger and to Samuel unable to move on for years. Samuel, however, is now a big time author with many beautiful women surrounding him. When Kaye realizes that Samuel's books basically tell their story she is livid. How dare he share the intimate details of their life with the world. She wants answers and she will get her chance to confront him sooner than she thinks. Sam's sister's wedding is approaching and Sam and his supposed new girlfriend Caroline (bitch!) will be attending as well.

Kaye is unsure how to go about finding out what drove Sam away all those years ago and when she gets her chance to confront him, she chickens out more than once. Is it time for Kaye to move on and forget about Samuel? Is it possible to give up on the person you thought you'd spend forever with? Kaye has a lot of soul searching to do to figure out what went wrong, what part she played, and what happens now.

My Thoughts

This book caught my attention because it was like nothing
I've read lately. The premise is creative. Ally was born with an unexplainable gift. She can heal people with just the touch of her hands. However, when she does this, she takes their pain, causing her body damage. She hasn't learned how to control the urge to help everyone to her detriment.

She is quite reclusive since she has been home schooled her whole life and has moved from city to city to avoid being outed by people who have witnessed her gift of healing. When she meets Theo at the park, there is an instant connection. I have to say the dialogue between these two characters was quite corney, but I guess with them being so young it was appropriate and worked. I found myself laughing quite a few times at their silliness.

After Theo witnesses Ally's healing powers, he vows to keep her safe. He will not let her hurt herself any longer.

Theo is keeping a secret himself that he does not want Ally to find out, but how can he keep it a secret?

If you had the chance to save someones life at the risk of your own would you? Ally battles this everyday and the biggest risk is just ahead.

Find out what happens in Angel Of Mine.

My Review:

4 STARS!

When I read the synopsis for this book, I was still a little confused as to what it was about. However, once I dove into the story things became clear.

Metim Sevim is a professional soccer player and at the top of his career. Alicia Matthews is the daughter of  Trevor Matthews, top executive of Ford Motor Co. and a beautiful aspiring professional soccer player herself. When Alicia and Metim meet at a team party hosted by her father they share an instant connection. Metim, a turkish man from a big family is gorgeous but also has a pompous side. However, when he falls in love with Alicia, he falls hard.

Alicia's sister, Melanie, has been burned by men over and over and  has turned into a bitter woman who drinks too much and is very jealous of her sister. I didn't like her...at all. She came off as thinking her kids were a big inconvenience and didn't seem to support Alicia in any of her decisions.

Then WHAM! Everything is turned upside down and everyone's lives change. Heartbreak and sadness ensues. Can Metim deal with it all? What happens changes everything. Forever.

I'm not giving too much away as it would spoil the story for those who want to read it. So, if you are intrigued, read Red Card and find out what happens.

About the Author

Microbrewery owner, best-selling author, beer blogger and journalist, mom of three, and soccer fan, Liz lives in the great Midwest, in a major college town.  She has decades of experience in sales and fund raising, plus an eight-year stint as a three-continent, ex-pat trailing spouse. While working as a successful Realtor, Liz made the leap into writing novels about the same time she agreed to take on marketing and sales for the Wolverine State Brewing Company.

Most days find her sweating inventory and sales figures for the brewery, unless she’s writing, editing or sweating promotional efforts for her latest publications.

Her early forays into the publishing world led to a groundbreaking fiction subgenre, “Romance for Real Life,” which has gained thousands of fans and followers interested less in the “HEA” and more in the “WHA” (“What Happens After?”).  More recently she is garnering even more fans across genres with her latest novels, which are more “character-driven fiction,” while remaining very much “real life.”

With stories set in the not-so-common worlds of breweries, on the soccer pitch, in successful real estate offices and many times in exotic locales like Istanbul, Turkey, her books are unique and told with a fresh voice. The Liz Crowe backlist has something for any reader seeking complex storylines with humor and complete casts of characters that will delight, frustrate, and linger in the imagination long after the book is finished.

                                                          My Review

Wow. I loved this book! Book 2, in the Divine Trilogy. If you are into hard core BDSM...or at least reading about it, then you will love this book.

This book picks up right where Book 1 left off, and takes you on a crazy exciting adventure. Let me tell you, R.E. Hargrave knows how to write some naughty...HOT naughty!

This book is about Catherine and Jayden and the quest for a happily ever after. Their journey is not an easy one. Somewhere along the way, love came into play. But is it worth is to Jayden to only have one submissive? R.E. Hargrave will have you gasping for breath from one moment to the next unable to tear your eyes from the pages. Limits are pushed, feelings are brought to light, but can they have a happy ending? Read this fantastic story filled with not only, make your panties melt love scenes but also filled with love.

                                      ** Excerpt **

“So, how does that work? I mean, how does one draw the line between Master and husband?” Was such a complicated relationship possible? Could Jayden see her that way? Just thinking his name caused a funny feeling in Catherine’s chest. Her thoughts continued, now on overdrive . . .

No. Master didn’t do personal relationships. He’d said as much when they’d first signed their con-tract together. They’d both agreed to the understanding that this was nothing more than a sexual relationship. Hell, he was fucking two other people besides her that she knew of. If there were a chance that he wanted something more with her, he wouldn’t have handed her over to complete strangers today. Would he? Oh, God. Sir Jonathan’s offer to take Catherine on repeated itself in her memory, along with the knowledge that she had more sessions today with an unknown number of Doms. Was that what today was? Had the ‘inspection’ Sir Jonathan performed not been part of the scene? Was Sir Jonathan looking her over as a potential acquisition? What about Miss K offering to take her on back in February? Catherine’s stomach soured again.

“No. No, please, no. I — I can’t,” Catherine mumbled and began to shake.

“Erin?”

Her world began crumbling around her, and panic took root. Catherine gasped for air, wrapping her arms around her mid-section.

“Erin! What’s wrong?”

Paige’s shriek snapped Catherine to attention, and she raised her watery eyes to meet her new friend’s.

“Paige,” Catherine started to cry. “He figured it out. I tried to be so good, so careful. He knows, and he’s going to get rid of me!” She thought she’d done so well at hiding her secret over the months, protecting her heart.

Paige had wrapped her arm around Catherine and was rubbing slow circles on her back. With a wince, Catherine became quite aware of every lash mark from Sir Jonathan’s whip. They now burned to her core when Paige’s soft hands brushed over them. Catherine flinched away from her.

“Shh, Erin,” she said in a calming voice. “Who knows what, sweetie? What are you talking about?”

Turning wide eyes on her, Catherine choked out, “Jay . . . Master. He knows I’ve fallen in — in love with him. I wasn’t supposed to. He found out, and now he’s interviewing me with strange Doms to get rid of me. I broke the rules and he —” she swallowed a sob, “he doesn’t want me anymore!”

OTHER FUN STUFF

SYNOPSIS:

Eliza Smith has never been the one to seek a relationship. She’s never dated a guy in her life, never even hugged a man (outside of her father/manager of the hot and popular rock band, FireNine) but when she decides to spend her summer on tour with FireNine, it all changes. Eliza really gets to meet Gage Grendel - her former crush from high school and the lead singer of FireNine - and witness sides to him to which she’ll begin to truly despise.
She’ll ignore him, she’ll dislike his ways, she’ll do anything to try and stay away from him until Gage finally gets her to slip up and give in. She agrees on a casual fling with Gage, but soon they’ll both see how the fling will blur into something they can’t control and when it’s finally time for Eliza to go and accomplish her own dreams, she’ll know there’s more she took from Gage than she ever thought possible.

MY REVIEW:

Who He Is is like most rock star stories; virgin girl meets man-whore rock star; boy chases girl; girl finally gives in.

However, this book is so much more.

Eliza has not had an easy life. She suffers from PTSD because of the horror her mother put her through when she was a kid. Her father Ben, Fire Nine's manager, thought he was giving Eliza a better life keeping her with her mother since he was broke and could not afford to care for her. Little did he know, she was living in absolute hell.

Once Eliza is able to live with her dad and he learns of how she was treated, it seems like he did everything he could to try and make it up to her for not being there. Ben invited Eliza to break out of her shell for the summer and join the band he manages, Fire Nine, on tour. Eliza went to high school with the lead singer Gage Grendel and even though she knew of his man-whoreish ways she still crushed on him from afar.

I LOVED most of the boys in the band. They are everything you would expect. Rowdy, vulgar, party animals, ladies men, etc... However, you can also see bits of who they really are inside. Montana was my favorite. He was funny and so nice and welcoming to Eliza from the beginning.

Deeds seemed to be a good one at first but then he makes you raise your eyebrow a few times. And, Roy, well, he was just really strange. I would really like to know what's up with him. Last but not least, Gage Grendal. Gage comes across as a cocky, arrogant, man whore, but is that just how he wants to be perceived or how he really is? Shanora Williams does a fantastic job of making you HATE him...but that's the point right? He would be kind of a lame rock star if he didn't live up to the rock star rep, right? Hmm, maybe.

Good news though, there is hope for him...I think.

Like Eliza, Gabe has been through a lot of shit too in his past and there are reasons he is the way he is. When he meets Eliza, something happens to him. She makes him want to be different, she makes him want to be better. Sadly, he screws up a time or two and that makes it hard to trust what he says, especially at the end.

I have to hand it to Eliza for being one strong girl and sticking to her choices. She stands her ground and knows what she wants out of life and what she doesn't and in the end she goes after it, despite the consequences.

I'm excited for Book 2 to be released so I can find out if Eliza and Gage are meant to be together and Who They Are.

**EXCERPT**

Grabbing the bar soap, I lathered it over me, my head tilted back in the running water until the bathroom door creaked open. My eyes widened, seeing Gage through the opaque glass door of the shower. His figure was solid, sexy. His strides toward the shower were cautious as he placed the towel on the rod.

He was about to turn around, but, surprisingly, I called his name and he stopped, taking a glance over his shoulder. A million thoughts were running through my drunken head. One of them was to tell him thanks… just because. Another was to ask for a kiss. It was odd, but I just wanted to feel him. The last was to tell him to come into the shower with me.

“Yeah?” Gage called, turning around.
I chewed on my bottom lip, the silence ringing between us. Finally, I asked, “Can you come in with me?”
He remained quiet for a few seconds. Through the opaque glass, he was perfectly still. Unmoving. Then, slowly and still quiet, he pulled his shirt over his head. He unbuttoned his jeans, kicked off his shoes, slid out of his boxers and jeans, and then walked toward the shower. My heart raced with each step closer. It raced even more as he grabbed the handle of the shower door and slid it open.
He stepped in without looking at me and I stepped beneath the water, as if it were going to hide my naked body. I held the bar of soap against my chest and as soon as Gage slid the shower door shut behind him, his heavy hazel eyes met mine.

For the most part, we were quiet. It wasn’t awkward to stare because he had more than enough to stare at and keep me quiet. Although the features of his face were hard, his eyes were tranquil, admiring the naked aspects of my body. My eyes traveled from his face to his broad chest. There was a tattoo of a woman’s name right below his left collarbone, almost where his heart would be. The name was Chloe and was in a flowing script.

The dragon on his ribs was defined; the blue and black stood out most. A splash of orange came out of its mouth and its head was tilted up, as if it were burning his armpit. My eyes continued traveling southward until they got to the main attraction. He wasn’t soft. He was hard, probably harder than a rock. I had the urge to grab him, stroke him… maybe even get a taste of him, but I held off, suddenly realizing I was the reason he was getting turned on.

Gage finally made the first move. His actions were deliberate, but he was going for it. He cupped my face, taking the soap out of my hand, placing it down, and then pulling my lips to his and kissing me fiercely.

I drowned in his touch, my body sinking against his firm upper half. He swallowed my moans and his tongue ran over and slipped beneath mine. His panting increased, his whole body turned rigid. He then picked me up and I had no problem wrapping my legs around him. My back pressed against the cool shower wall, but our lips never parted.

Groaning, his head moved down and he licked the droplets off my neck. He kissed and sucked on me tenderly, his arousal digging into me. He was so close to my entrance that it frightened me yet turned me on at the same time. I wanted it more than I realized. My body was yearning, craving for him to just take me there.

Lucky Morgan gave up her dating rules for Zane Beaumont and allowed him to sweep her off of her feet; even though he didn't really believe in love. However, as their relationship progresses, Lucky realizes that Zane isn't the man she thought he was.

Zane Beaumont has spent the last few months trying to ignore Lucky's smile and trying to exact revenge on Braydon Eagle. Zane will stop at nothing to bring down the man he holds responsible for his brothers death; even if it means risking his new relationship with Lucky.

When heartbreaking secrets from the past are revealed, the fragile trust and love they have built together is put in jeopardy.. Lucky and Zane are left to decide if they can overcome the new painful revelations that are threatening to break both of their hearts so that they can focus on their future together.

MY REVIEW:

The Last Husband picks up where The Last Boyfriend left off. Zane has decided to give it a shot in a relationship with Lucky.
Because of his past, he isn't sure the relationship will last. It goes well for a bit but Zane is keeping things from Lucky and she can tell something is up. Her paranoia along with his dishonesty and need for revenge causes serious strain on their relationship. There were times I wanted to punch each of them in their faces for their stupidity. Zane is keeping secrets for a reason but he isn't the only one. Read this book and find out what is revealed. I can't wait to read book 3 coming soon!

EXCERPT:

“Are you okay, Zane?” I touched his shoulder and he glanced at me with emotion-filled eyes.

“You look beautiful, Lucky. Really beautiful.” He paused. “I just can’t quite believe you’re here.” He frowned. “Guys like me don’t get girls like you…”
“Girls like me?”
“The good ones, the special ones. I don’t even know if this moment is real. It doesn’t feel real. It doesn’t feel like my life. I’m so scared that someone is going to wake me from a dream and you won’t be here.”
“I feel the same way,” I whispered. “It just seems to all have happened so quickly.” I chewed on my lower lip and looked up at his handsome face from under my lashes. “I’m scared that something will go wrong.”
“So am I.” He cleared his throat and looked away. “I don’t know that I can be exactly what you need.”

“What do you mean?” My breath caught in my throat and I stared at him in fear. Was he breaking up with me already? Was the necklace a goodbye gift?

5 STARS!!!!

SYNOPSIS:
Besieged by memories of a brutal abduction, Claire Nichols wakes in an unfamiliar bedroom, within a luxurious mansion. Her recollections have one common denominator, the man she just met, Anthony Rawlings.
Unbeknownst to Claire, for a very long time, she has been within Anthony’s sights. Many of the pivotal events in her life occurred, due to his sinister manipulation. Every action has a consequence, and his actions result in their chance meeting.

More than a psychological thriller, Consequences is a vivid story of one woman’s struggle to survive incomprehensible circumstances. Every aspect of her being suddenly depends upon the tall, wealthy, dark haired, dark eyed businessman. Anthony Rawlings is known to the world as prosperous, benevolent, and kind. Claire quickly learns that he can also be a menacing controlling captor.

With few options but concession, Claire attempts to earn her freedom, while enduring a hellish existence that truly appears perfect. Persevering tests and trials, she struggles to retain her pure Midwest values and beliefs. Encouraged by memories of a loving upbringing, she gains strength in the simplest of joys: solitude in nature and good in the face of evil.

His goal in sight, Anthony’s calculated agenda encounters an unforeseen detour. He becomes captivated by Claire’s beauty, resilience, and determination. The interaction of these two compelling characters instigates strong emotions: fear, anger, love, and lust. Claire and Anthony’s tumultuous journey flows into uncharted waters of intrigue and passion.

Utilizing vivid detail, this 167,000-word novel unfolds like a movie, before the eyes of its readers. From the opening criminal abduction, through twists and turns, to the unlikely romantic thrills, the suspense climaxes as Anthony’s motivation becomes evident.

Anthony and Claire must decide if they will stay true to one another, or allow preceding actions to result in justifiable Consequences.

                              MY REVIEW:

Holy Hell! What!?! No freaking way! Are you kidding me? What the fuckity fuck fuck????- These are just a few of my thoughts while reading this fantastic mind bender by Aleatha Romig.

If you are looking for a sweet romance with a loved up hero and heroin ...this is not that book. If you like a psychological thriller full of suspense and intrigue that keeps you guessing from one minute to the next, then this book is right up your alley.

*Note* While this book does have rape and physical abuse it is not too graphic in detail and should be okay for weak stomachs to digest.

This book starts us off by meeting Claire, an ex meteorologist turned bartender in Indiana. She is approached by the multi-billionaire Anthony Rawlings while she is working one night. They chat and he asks her out to dinner. She excepts thinking he is a charming and sweet man, really he is anything but. After their date, Claire wakes up the next morning with no idea where she is and how she got there. Her memory starts to return as she recalls being raped and abused and captured beyond her will the night before by non other than the man she thought so different just the last evening. She is kept in Anthony's mansion against her will with no access to phone, computer, or car. All of her free will's are taken away and only some are given back with limits and always in the presence of Tony Rawlings. I hated this man so much. Even towards the middle of the book when maybe just maybe we might see a teeny tiny inkling of goodness in Tony, I didn't buy it. He seems like the most evil, deceitful, angry, bipolar man there is. I felt like throwing up whenever he came into the same room as Claire, not knowing what to expect. When Claire had the opportunity to flee and didn't I was pissed at her, thinking how could she be so stupid? I was yelling at my Kindle telling her to, "Get the fuck out of there!!!!" I understand that Anthony has this towering dominant personality and she was scared out of her mind to leave and maybe I would have done the same as her in that situation but lord I hope not.

This book keep me awake at night, infiltrated my dreams, and crawled into my brain and took residence. The minute you think you have everything figured out, BAM!!!, nope it all changes. I was kept on the edge of my seat for a huge portion of this book waiting with baited breath to see what would happen. Anthony's horrid unthinkable actions have no bounds and I am eager to see if he is exposed in book two, Truth.

The author placed quotes appropriately throughout the book; here are a few of my favorites:

"What is love? Love is when one person knows all of your secrets, your deepest darkest, most dreadful secrets of which no one else in the world knows. And yet in the end, that one person does not thing any less of you."

"You have to accept whatever comes and the only important thing is that you meet it with courage and with the best that you have to give.- Eleanor Roosevelt

               the girl in 6E

     By, Alessandra Torre

             ****4 Stars****

Holy Hell! What in the world did I just read???
This book is like nothing I have read before. It's very dark and quite disturbing. I wasn't sure if I hated DeAnna or just felt really sorry for her. She is quite psychotic in her thought process. I suppose I may be too if I had gone through what she did as a child.

DeAnna has an obsession with killing. She fantasizes about killing people, mostly with knives. You get a better understanding of why she is the way she is later in the book. To avoid hurting anyone and to save them all from herself, DeAnna, exiles herself in her apartment for many years. To survive, she goes by an alias, Jessica, and makes money, lots of money, as a sex-cam girl. She is so fearful and untrusting of herself, that she won't even open the door for the delivery man, Jeremy. Her sex-cam job gets her in a situation that made me sick to my stomach. I kept reading waiting to see the horror that I knew just had to be approaching. I'm happy to say that it wasn't as horrendous as I thought it would be, but still no less disturbing.

This book is mostly a psychological thriller with some crazy cam-girl sex stuff mixed in and there isn't any romance. I gave it four stars because it kept me on my toes from about the middle to the end and the originality was refreshing. I was quite surprised by the ending. Like some of the other reviewers, I'm not so sure a change like that can happen so fast with someone...but I'm not a doctor so who knows. Anything is possible.

Goodreads Blurb-

I screw men for money. Not literally, think phone sex operator with a 15 megapixel web cam thrown in. They tell me their deepest, darkest fantasies while paying me $6.99 a minute.

What would possess me to engage in such a business? Throw in a tortured past, 24/7 murderous thoughts, and a desire to keep the innocent people of my small town safe.

I was contained, out of the way, sexcamming my way to utter obscurity until HE came along. A twisted client armed with a target's name. Annie. And in that name, everything changed.

The Upside of Letting Go
By- Nacole Stayton

****Review ****

****4**** Stars

Synopsis:

Haley Martin decides the only way to let go of her lingering nightmares is to literally move on. Taking a leap of faith she finds herself enrolling at a campus hundreds of miles away from home.

She leaves any thoughts of dating again in Jersey, that is until fate crosses her path with a blue-eyed stud named Kyler King. He is notoriously known for being emotionally unattainable, but his façade is only to hide the burdens he bares every day.

As Kyler and Haley’s physical attraction becomes deeper, the secrets of the past threaten to surface. When Haley’s past collides with the present, will her secrets prove too big of an obstacle hindering their happily ever after, or will letting go be the key that locks their bond forever?

Warning: This book is intended for readers 17+ due to explicit language and sexual encounters.

                        My Review

This book touched me so deeply. The pain and suffering that Haley and Kyler had to go through before they met and then once again when they were together was so heartbreaking. Nacole Stayton did an excellent job getting across the emotional toll it took on these two people. I found myself with tears rolling down my face at more than one point in the book. Haley leaves Jersey to get away from the memories and to make a new start. After her family was gone, she lost control of herself and her life. She knew that if she was to survive she must leave Jersey, her boyfriend Jude, and all of her friends. Jude grew up in Alabama, so Haley decides that is a good place to go. She enrolls in school and moves into the dorm. She meets her roommate Lucy. I loved Lucy so much. She was probably one of the best type of roommates to have. She was not intrusive to Haley's past, even knowing something was off with her lack of family and photos. Lucy was there for Haley when she needed her, made her laugh, and helped Haley get back to her old self.

When Haley and Kyler met, you could tell there was a connection. They weren't sure why, but they knew it was there.

"Look, I don't know what your problem is, but I won't call you Hale anymore. I didn't know it was a big deal, and for the record I don't read through people's files. Your application picture was included. I don't know why, but it stood out to me. When you ran into me I knew exactly who you were."

At first, when things get hard Haley runs away. And, she runs away a lot! She thinks Kyler will think she's nuts. She tells herself to "let go", which is what they told her in therapy. Eventually, she does a better job of letting go of the things she cannot change but then a part of her past resurfaces.

Haley and Kyler decide they both want to explore their attraction to each other but in a friends with benefits sort of way. No emotional attachments. With the pull and connection they feel towards each other, and with what they have both been through, they understand each other and their friends with benefits relationship quickly develops into more. They heal each other. Haley has had more of a support system to deal with her loss, but Kyler has never talked about his. He doesn't deal with his emotional pain well until Haley is there to let him know that she understands what he is going thorough because she has been where he is.

I wanted to smack Haley around a few times for her actions. She didn't seem to know exactly what...or whom, she wanted more. Who will she pick? What will happen to the other person? She is an idiot! Ahhhhhh, what are you doing Haley!!!?!!! These were my thoughts reading through her stupidity.

The Upside of Letting Go, is a fantastic book. You will laugh, you will cry (a lot!), and you will see that no matter what we go through in life, no matter how hard  it may seem at the time, that we can get through it. It takes time and it takes surrounding yourself with friends and love...and most of all it takes, letting go.

Releases- 4/20/13!!!

Bravo Nacole Stayton. I can't wait to read more from you.

   * I was provided an ARC copy of this book by the author for a fair review.

  Music of the Heart

 By Katie Ashley

 Review and Playlist

This book was one that I was so excited to read. I mean, how can you go wrong with a group of hot guys in a band, right?

Blurb:

For Abby Renard, the plan was supposed to be simple—join her brothers’ band on the last leg of their summer tour and decide if she’s finally ready for the limelight by becoming its fourth member. Of course, she never imagined stumbling onto the wrong tour bus at Rock Nation would accidentally land her in the bed of Jake Slater, the notorious womanizing lead singer of Runaway Train. When he mistakes her for one of his groupie’s, Abby quickly lets him know she sure as hell isn't in his bed on purpose.

Jake Slater never imagined the angel who fell into his bed would resist his charms by promptly kneeing him in the balls. Of course, the fact she seems like a prissy choir girl makes her anything but his type. So he is more than surprised when after betting Abby she wouldn’t last a week on their tour bus, she is more than willing to prove him wrong. But as Jake’s personal life begins to implode around him, he finds an unlikely ally in Abby. He’s never met a woman he can talk to, joke with, or most importantly make music with.

As the week starts comes to a close, neither Abby nor Jake is ready to let go. Can a sweetheart Country songstress and a bad boy of Rock N Roll actually have a future together?

 My Thoughts:

I loved this book soooo much! The banter between Abby and Jake is so fun, right from the start. I love that Abby was a tough chick that didn't take any crap from the boys. She was able to hold her own and stand up to a challenge. Jake was kind of douchy at first but I suppose that is typical band boy behavior.

Abby, meaning to get on her brothers bands tour bus (Jacob's Ladder), gets taken by a distracted roadie to

Runaway Train's bus and Jake Slater. Abby and Jake have an awkward first meeting and things just escalate from there. I don't want to say too much and give anything away but trust me...you need to read this book.

This book made me laugh, cry, pull my hair at Jake's antics and then laugh all over again. I can't wait to read more about AJ and the other band boys in the books to come!

BLURB:

How do you keep going when you feel like your life is over?

Maggie never thought she’d see Clay again. So, she attempts to put her life back together after her heart has been shattered to pieces. Moving on and moving forward, just as Clay wanted her to.

Clay never stopped thinking of Maggie. Even after ripping their lives apart and leaving her behind to get the help he so desperately needed. He is healing...slowly. But his heart still belongs to the girl who tried to save him.

When a sudden tragedy brings Maggie and Clay face to face again, nothing is the same. Yet some things never change. Can the darkness that threatened to consume them be transformed into something else and finally give them what they always wanted? And can two people who fought so hard to be together, finally find their happiness? Or will their demons and fear drive them apart for good?

The thing about love, is even when it destroys you, it has a way of mending what is broken. And in the shadows, you can still see the light.

My Thoughts:

"I didn't deserve the love of the girl who I had destroyed. But it didn't stop me from chasing after it."

Oh, be still my heart. I am in tears after reading this emotional, intense, fantastic story.

Light in the Shadows is the continuation of book 1, Find You in the Dark, which left me completely heartbroken. I was desperate to find out what was next for Clayton and Maggie. Would Clayton be alright? Would Maggie? Would they ever be together again? Book 2 answers all those questions and more.

We start off learning about Clayton's journey at The Grayson Center. He was very unreceptive to getting the help he needed when he first arrived. He was a total douche to the staff and other patients. Finally, Clay realized that things needed to change, he needed to change. He became more open to listening to the staff, going to group chat, and learning how to deal with his Borderline Personality Disorder and the mania that comes from it. My heart went out to Clayton. He was such a great guy who wanted to be normal, wanted to be everything Maggie needed, and really just wanted to be loved and not abandoned. I wanted to slap his parents in the face for how selfish and unloving they were. How could you ever treat your child the way they treated him?

Maggie has been a mess since Clay left. She fell into a severe depression closing everyone out. When she receives Clay's letter saying she should move on, she gets angry. Crazy enough, it's that anger that motivates her to snap out of the funk she's in and start living life again. However, she finds that she cannot move on. Her heart belongs to Clay, they are meant to be together, forever.

When a tragedy strikes, Clayton comes back to comfort his aunt Ruby. He really struggles in his decision on whether to stay in Virginia or go back and finish his treatment at The Grayson Center.

"She was everything I wanted in life but was still unsure I    deserved."

"I could want her, long for her, but never need. Because that spelled disaster for both of us.
And I had had more than enough disaster in my life."

Clayton and Maggie realize that they are meant to be together, even if it means they will struggle, even if it means it will be hard, they can't live without each other again. So, they fall back into a relationship with ups and downs. Clayton really tries hard to take all he has learned in therapy and apply it to his life now. He struggles daily with self destructive thoughts and feelings of abandonment. Tough decisions need to be made. Decisions that are best for everyone in order for them to move on and be together.

By the end, I  was a hot mess of tears. Tears of happiness that even though it was a long journey, they get their happy ending, just the way it should be.

"You taught me that the person I am is worth loving, worth               fighting for. You gave me strength when I had none. You held me up when I wanted to fall. And now, I want to give you
everything. I want to give you the world. Because Maggie, you've given me mine. And it's you.  It will always, forever, be you."

Blog Tour: Wreck Me by J.L. Mac

Review And An Exclusive Excerpt From Damon's POV, Courtesy Of J.L. Mac!!!

Blurb:

Life can be cruel. People can be ruthless and evil. The world can be cold and uninviting. No one knows these things better than Josephine Geroux. By her own definition, she is a twenty-five year old “nobody with nothing,” and she is content to stay that way. Growing up an orphan has made her tough and indifferent to the people around her until she meets a strangely familiar man with a face that haunts her for reasons she can’t understand.

Despite the pain that will inevitably ensue, she makes it her mission to discover what parts of her tragic puzzle she is missing. On her journey to discovering why the she feels an alarming connection to an absolute stranger, her greatest fear is reawakening the demons and darkness from the past that will surely overtake her if she lets her guard down.

Little does Josephine know that the past should be the least of her worries. She is toying with a man who has already broken her heart once. She just doesn’t realize it.

Although she makes it a point to avoid interactions with others, Josephine’s life becomes entangled with the enigmatic stranger. Before she realizes it, she has given herself over to the one person who is close enough to wreck her.

My Review:

 5 Brilliant Shiny Stars!!!!

J.L. Mac has once again hit it out of the park with her second book, Wreck Me. It's taken me a few days to get my thoughts together on what to say here without giving too much away. This book is filled with all kinds of awesome and I was so grateful to have the pleasure of reading it.

The minute you read the Prologue, you are grabbed by the intense emotions and cannot look away for a moment. Josephine Geroux lost her parents at nine years old during a horrific car accident. She has grown up an orphan, living in "homeless kid prison" as she calls it and being shuffled in and out of foster care. At sixteen she had had enough and refusing to be a victim she left out on her own.

"Look girl, you have a choice. You can stay like this and hope for all that bogus bullshit that people tell you about to come true or you can work your a** off and turn things around for yourself. No one is going to fix things for you. So get to it."

Now at 25, she works in a bookstore owned by a man named Sutton or Captain as Jo calls him. Josephine loves books so much. When she was a teenager she would go to the library and the librarian would allow her to stay and read so that she could educate herself. Jo taught herself everything she needed to know and got her GED.

"And who the hell are you?"

 "Miss USA and you?"
"Captain America. Can I help you?"
"Fitting name. I want a job."
"And why the hell would I hire a bum?"
"I can tell you why. I love books. Probably more than you.
I have likely read every book in here at this very moment.
I can tell you authors names along with their works off the
top of my head. I live in a book most days and dream of them
most nights. I'm honest. I know how to work my ass off and I
wouldn't bail on you. Clearly I am in no position to throw away
 a steady job."

And this is how her and Sutton meet. Sutton is a grumpy old man, but underneath his exterior he loves Jo like a daughter and she loves him like a father. Jo has been dealt a shit life and it has made her rough around the edges. She has a dirty humorous mouth. I found myself laughing at her realism. She tells you like it is.

One day she is chasing a thief out of the bookstore and she meets Damon Cole. He is familiar to her but she can't figure out why and there is a definite attraction there as well.

I loved Damon..I mean LOVED Damon. He is a gorgeous, dominant, giving, and caring man. He sweeps Jo off of her feet and they fall into a very intense sexual relationship. Ahhh, the sex...once again J.L Mac has shown us her prowess for writing a hot as hell sex scene. I mean hello, Damon makes Jo see stars!!! As they spend more and more time together their feelings for each other grow deeper. I loved how Damon asked Jo to repeat herself whenever she would say something he liked to hear.

"Who are you Josephine?"

"I'm your girlfriend."
"If you are my girlfriend then what does that make me,Josephine?"
"My boyfriend."
"Say it again."
"My boyfriend."
"Say it again"
"Ah! My boyfriend."
"Again."
"My boyfriend!"

Their relationship is perfect, except for one thing. Damon is hiding something, and that something could wreck Jo forever. I was heartbroken by the end. When Jo found out what she thought was the truth, I yelled and screamed at her to see reason and to just listen. My heart broke for Damon, a man who has carried unnecessary guilt for years for something that was not his fault. And then, the letter. Oh my gosh, I was a big balling baby at this point and did not want to find out anything bad, and yet I kept reading unable to put down my Kindle. This was my final thought at the last sentence...

"Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Please, please ,please no!"

Wreck Me, will make you laugh, cry, laugh more, cry more, and leave you desperate to find out what happens next.

Josephine and Damon have been through so much and they deserve a happy ending. I'm looking forward to see if they get it in book two, Restore Me.

Bravo J.L. Mac! Also props to the cover artist; that is one hot cover!

 NOW THE EXCLUSIVE EXCERPT!!

The First Encounter -Damon’s POV

I need to shave my face soon. I look scruffy as hell right now. Not that it matters a whole lot. Staying clean shaven for the sake of wearing a suit is not an incentive for me. I can’t stand wearing suits most days anyway. I run my fingers over the hair across my jaw to check the length. Screw it. I can manage to keep it a few days longer. I couldn’t shave it without having to look at myself in the mirror and I’m not doing that. I can’t.

I round the corner to keep walking towards the coffee shop when movement catches my eye.
“What the hell?” I grumble under my breath. Something compels me to jog across the street.

“HA! I’ll take that thank you very much!” I get to the entrance of the store just in time to hear some woman yell, then some jerk narrowly misses me as he comes charging from inside. I throw my arms out and jerk back to avoid a collision. I watch him high tale it down the sidewalk. I glance back at the entrance to see a woman kneeling on the floor. Her back is facing me. I can’t help but admire how her brown hair looks hanging down her back. I don’t even have to see her face to know this woman is beautiful. Call it a baseless gut instinct, but I can feel it. I have to make sure though.

“Ahem.” Well shit, I scared her. She jumps up and turns to face me. Christ! I was right. I knew it. I knew she would be beautiful. Beautiful isn’t the fucking word. I clench my hands so hard that my nails dig into the meat of my palms. I damn near clutched my chest. She’s stunning with her wild looking brown hair. Even through squinted eyes I can see that they are a deep green. If her lips were any more pouty I would swear they were the work of a surgeon. They aren’t though. I can tell fake when I see it and I have seen and touched my fair share of plastic ladies. This one though, she… she’s fucking stunning. I feel like a damned moron standing here doing nothing. Do something.

“Are you alright ma’am? I saw someone running out of here.” Please be single. Say you’re single. Honestly, if she isn’t single it doesn’t make a difference to me. I have to talk to this woman. There is no doubt in my mind. I have to have her. I will have her.

She is definitely younger than me but she is pure grown woman for sure. Mid-twenties maybe. Her eyes are squinted but I can see her trying to get a look. That’s right baby, get a good look. Guess the glaring sun behind me isn’t helping. She turns and crouches to pick up some key chains and other stuff that has fallen from a display. “Jo. My name is Jo. Ma’am carries an implication of being something I am not. So yeah, just call me Jo.” Perfect chance. I am a man with keen instincts and I know opportunity when I see it.  Chivalry isn’t dead. I come closer and crouch down to help her gather up the junk. When I come nearer I am immediately slapped in the face with her scent. It doesn’t smell like the heavily floral shit that most women douse on every day. This smells lightly sweet. It smells like it could damn well be natural. It makes me wonder if this sweet scent just covers her skin naturally. If it does, my mouth waters to sample every inch of her skin. I need to get a grip on myself or I’m going to be sporting some serious hardware in this book store.

“An implication of what exactly?” The question rolls off my tongue without even having to think about it. Why would she say something like that? Her delicate shoulders lift and fall in a shrug and I can see her scrambling around in that head of hers for something to say. I’d like to put her out of her misery by asking her to come out with me but I am fascinated. Undeniably, and completely fascinated. She looks uncomfortable and I can’t help staring. I watch and wait for her to say something.

“You know… someone who is married or someone who is older, or someone who has stature or some type of title. Someone who deserves respect. I’m none of that so call me Jo.” She frowns just a bit and it is clear she is thinking hard on something.

“Okay. Jo” I’ll call her Jo or any other name she wants me to as long as she agrees to come out with me. Then maybe come home with me. Then maybe come under me. My private thoughts aren’t doing me any favors in the boner department. Fuck.

“And you are?” She arches that brow and it feels like a thousand spotlights have landed on me. This chick is a no nonsense type. This could be a problem. I will just have to figure out how to get her into my bed and make things a little…clearer. I don’t tolerate mouthy women that’s why I prefer them gagged and bound. But this one, she’s different. I want her more than once. I want her until that sweet scent radiating from her no longer makes my mouth water and my cock twitch. I’ll set her straight. She will understand who is in charge, and she’ll like it. I’ll make sure of it. Time to make this work.

“Damon. Damon Cole.” I take her smooth hand in mine and shake. Maybe we just hold hands for a while because I would swear it on my life and every dollar I have that there is something here. Maybe it’s the woman. Maybe it’s the urge to fuck her silly or maybe it’s just the urge to fuck in general. No sex in weeks has a way of making people crazy. Her hand stays in mine and we watch each other. The sassy look has been replaced with something curious. She feels this too. I feel like jumping up and down like an idiot. She feels this too. This is perfect. Getting her to do what I need and want should be all the more simple. Her perfect mouth pops open and pauses for a moment before speaking.

“Do I know you?” Nope. Don’t think so. You will soon though. I look at her observantly. Yeah no way I know her. I would remember her.

“No, Jo. I don’t think so.” Not yet anyway. Not yet.

**Thank You J.L. Mac for creating Damon (swoon) and providing me and all your readers with this excerpt.**

   CHARACTER FAVORITES/INTERVIEW

I had a chance to sit down with Kat and Hottie Mc.Hotterson/Sex on Legs Ben Chase to ask a few questions and learn a few of their favorite things. They were really fantastic and here is what they had to say....

FAVORITE THINGS ...

FOOD

Kat: "My favorite is most definitely Ben's rum caramel crepes. They are to die for."

Ben: "I am a steak and potato kind of man. 16 ounce ribeye steak, medium rare, baked potato, loaded."

DRINK-

Kat: "I drink loads of coffee and hot tea. So I guess that would be my favorite. As far as alcohol, I like Moscato."

Ben: "I drink water, tea, coffee, or aged scotch."

AUTHOR-

Kat: "Jane Austen. Always will be I suppose."

Ben: "J.D. Salinger. The Catcher in the Rye. It's a classic."

SINGER/BAND-

Kat: "Oh, please don't make me pick just one. I know I dislike John Mayer! Pffft! Anyway, um, I guess....I am in a Pearl Jam mood lately so I guess they are my favorite."

Ben: "I am a Stones man."

FAVORITE PLACE TO VACATION-

Kat: "The beach. It doesn't matter where, just as long as its the sea. That's home for me."

Ben: "My favorite place is wherever Kathleen is."

(Awwwww! Swoon!)

QUESTIONS...

Me: When did you each know you were in love with the other?

Kat: "The day he showed me his photography. I knew I was his even if I could not admit it just yet."

Ben: "From the moment I saw her in the Book Ends I knew she would be mine. I knew we were made for each other. I made it my mission to win her heart."

(Could he be anymore charming!?!)

Me: Are you worried about what else John Murray has in store?

Kat: "We don't really talk about that much. I talk about it with my therapist but we don't usually discuss it."

Ben: "The fact is John Murray is in prison. He poses no threat to us and even if he did, I assure you, Kathleen is safe."

Me: Any exciting plans for Valentine's Day?

Kat: "I don't know."

Ben: "We have plans. Secret surprise plans."

Kat: "Do any of these plans include conspiring against me with Cheyenne and Tucker? You three really know how to mess with my head.:

Ben: "Maybe."

Kat: "Ugh. I'm going to choke that hooker!"
