Forgiven (This #3) By J.B. McGee

                   Review and Tour Wide Giveaway

4 Stars ****

Synopsis:

Everyone has a past…good or bad, they are always there. They lurk and linger in the shadows, sometimes reappearing at the most inconvenient times.

Gabby and Bradley thought that their pasts would remain dormant, that happiness was theirs for the taking. Still the strongest of relationships can be rocked by the ugliness from a previous life, even if it seems to be a world away. The fact remains an ugly past is never distant. It taints everything it touches, drives permanent rifts between loved ones, and sometimes can ruin everything. Gabby and Bradley must find the only way to battle the past. Forgiveness becomes a light through the darkness, a guide for the lost, and hope for the hopeless. With forgiveness comes bright, new beginnings.

My Review:

Forgiven is the third installment in the This series by J.B. McGee. Bradley and Gabby have gone through a lot! Veronica and Ian created a mess for them to get through and just when they think they've overcome it all more obstacles arise. What will it take for them to finally have a happy future together?

This book keeps you on your toes with many twists. You won't want to put the book down! There are a few unexpected surprises as well. We get POV's from many characters in this book which was nice. I  love how much Bradley obviously loves Gabby. Can I steal him?  Gabby finally faces her fears which puts her in a much better place. We finally see why she has been the way she is due to what happened to her when she was younger. I loved the relationship between Gabby and Sam. My sister and I have a strong bond just like they do. I loved that they always had each other. I'm excited to read more about Sam in the future! I think there is also going to be a story about Ian and Veronica. So look for those to come out. This was a fantastic heart warming love story that will make you laugh, cry, smile, and yes, even growl a little.

It Stings So Sweet

  It Stings So Sweet
 By Stephanie Draven

   4 Stars ****

SYNOPSIS:

In the aftermath of a wild, liquor-soaked party, three women from very different social classes are about to live out their forbidden desires.

Society girl, Nora Richardson’s passionate nature has always been a challenge to her ever-patient husband. Now he wants out of the marriage and she has just this one night to win him back. The catch? He wants to punish her for her bad behavior. Nora is offended by her husband’s increasingly depraved demands, but as the night unfolds, she discovers her own true nature and that the line between pain and pleasure is very thin indeed.

Meanwhile, Clara Cartwright, sultry siren of the silent screen, is introduced to a mysterious WWI Flying Ace. If Clara, darling of the scandal sheets, knows anything, it’s men. And she’s known plenty. But none of them push her boundaries like the aviator, who lures her into a ménage with a stranger in a darkened cinema then steals her jaded heart.

Working class girl Sophie O’Brien has more important things on her mind than pleasures of the flesh. But when her playboy boss, the wealthy heir to the Aster family fortune, confronts her with her diary of secret sex fantasies, she could die of shame. To her surprise, he doesn’t fire her; instead, he dares her to re-enact her boldest fantasies and Sophie is utterly seduced.

One party serves as a catalyst of sexual awakening. And in an age when anything goes, three women discover that anything is possible...

MY REVIEW:

HOT! HOT! HOT!

This book is actually three stories all over lapping together in a way. All deliciously erotic.

Love Me or Leave Me (Story 1)-

This story is about Nora Richardson and her husband Jonathan. They are on the brink of divorce. Jonathan has dark sexual needs that he thinks are too much for Nora. Nora wanting to be dominated learns of these needs and the result is super hot!

“I’m mine to give, Jonathan. And no one can decide, but you, whether or not to give yourself to me in return.”

When I'm Bad I'm Better (Story 2)-

This story is about silent screen actress Clara Cartwright and fighter pilot Leo Vanderberg. This is a story about dominance and pleasure and letting go. Two cocky people with lots of sexual experience coming together. Leo thinks he can give Clara what she's never experienced and Clara finds herself falling in love. Leo is everything she needs and the outcome is a steamy hot read.

“Goddamn it, Clara. How can you love yourself so little when I love you so much?”

Let's Misbehave (Story 3)-

Rich bad boy Robert Aster and feminist Sophie O'Brien go on a journey of sensual exploration. Sophie works in the Aster Hotel and its not all its cracked up to be. The women are not treated equal. When she is summoned to the bosses office, she expects to be in trouble but instead finds the owner's son has Sophie's diary of her deepest desires. Sophie is so embarrassed and expects to be let go. She never expected what happened next...
Robert makes an offer to fulfill everyone of her fantasies along with some she never knew she wanted.

This book is exciting and wild and may make you turn a bit pink in the cheeks. It has BDSM, Menage's, and will keep you excited the whole ride. I love this authors writing and look forward to reading more from her.

MY REVIEW:

4 1/2 Stars****

Whoa. Okay. I'm still kind of processing my thoughts on what I've just read. What can I say that will do it justice without giving anything away? I really loved this book. It captured my attention and did not let go until the last word.

This is a story about Violet Phillips and her crazy, exciting, depressing, up and down life. As a child, she lived with her family in the Colorado mountains following a gypsy way of life. She learned to belly dance and be carefree. When her sister, Vivienne leaves Violet at 14 years old she gets out of control with drugs and alcohol. Thankfully she avoids the devastation that usually comes with that lifestyle and gets clean.

Fast forward and Violet is 26 years old and a teachers assistant to her beloved mentor Doc. When Doc disappears, Violet is once again sole crushed. She learns that her neighbor, Shepard (swoon and drool) has been watching her through her window for a while. She finds solace in Shepards arms and they begin an exciting and loving relationship.

The events that take place over the next six years are heartbreaking. Violet faces many distractions and finds she doesn't know who she can trust. She spirals into a deep depression. She just wants to be happy and she is finding that elusive. What will become of her? Where will her life take her next? Does she even want to continue living?

Just when you think you have it all figured out, another twist punches you in the face. JL Brooks is a fantastic writer and has an amazing ability to draw the reader in and not let go. I look forward to reading more from her.

*Note* - The only thing that bugged me a tiny bit was the amount of dialogue spoken without contractions. I'm a fast talker so maybe that was why? Ha

                                                           Then Again, By Karen Stivali

                                    Publication Date:  May 21, 2013

4 Stars ****

Synopsis:

Sometimes you have to lose it all to find what you really need.

Photographer Kay Turner is dealt a double whammy when she flies home for her grandmother’s funeral to find her boyfriend with another woman. Now with two losses to mourn, she retreats to her newly inherited beach house to clear her head.

Everything at the beach is familiar: the sounds of the ocean, the scent of her grandmother’s perfume—and the irresistible smile of James Margolis. The man Kay spent her adolescence pining for is every bit as charming as she remembers.

James always thought of Kay as “a nice kid”, but he feels something very different for the woman she’s become. Especially when he asks if she’d be willing to part with some of her grandmother’s recipes for his new restaurant—and they wind up sharing much more than culinary secrets.

But as their relationship deepens, Kay finds herself caught between the demands of her dream career as a travel photographer, and a chance for happiness with the one man she’s wanted for a lifetime.

Warning: This foodie romance contains sensual scone baking, a heroine who discovers one bad apple hasn’t spoiled her appetite, and a delicious hero you can’t help but crave. Blend well, serve hot.

   My Review:

This is a sweet story about Kay and James falling in love. Kay is a photographer and comes home to her apt one day to find a woman in her kitchen dressed only in her douchenozzle boyfriends shirt. Thankfully Kay is smart and immediately packs her stuff and leaves. Kay came home two weeks early because her grandmother, who practically raised her, has passed away.

While Kay is at the market, she runs into James. Kay has had a crush on James since they were kids but James being six years older than Kay, she never thought anything would happen.

When James sees Kay all grown up he is taken aback. She is not the awkward little girl in classes anymore. She is a delightfully curvy in all the right places woman who has captured his attention.

James is soooooo sweet. I loved that he made excuses to come by Kay's house just so he could see her. Once they realize the mutual attraction, their relationship takes off from there.

This was such a sweet romantic story with no games or drama and it has a happy ending!!! So, if you are looking for a feel good story with a side of hot lovin' then this is the book for you!

                                           Restore Me, By JL Mac

                                    Review and Giveaway

                                           5 Stars *****

Synopsis:

Navigating the world alone is all Josephine Geroux has ever known. Life altering tragedy struck early on for her. She endured an admirable struggle through her youth and learned the hard way how to adapt and survive. She managed to arrive at adulthood in one piece in spite of it all.

After such chaos, maintaining a life free of complications is a priority for her.
Everything changed when a man with amber eyes came through her door and claimed her heart. She fell hard in more ways than one. The pull between Jo and Damon seemed like fate bringing things full circle.

With another devastating loss looming, Jo fights to hold on to the very thing that brought her to her knees. She finds herself torn between a promising future and clinging to a devastating past.
But that’s not the most worrisome problem on her hands.

She must convince more than just herself to let the past stay in the past, where it belongs, but on her journey to find closure and resolution, she does the exact opposite. An old wound caused by a heinous act becomes exposed for what it is. The truth is catastrophic and Jo is helpless, watching as the ruins of her fragile world endure more turmoil.

Can something conceived from tragedy and malice end well? Can something so completely poisoned conquer adversity? Jo is left to make a decision; accept the circumstances she finds herself in or fight with unwavering ferocity to restore what has been damaged.
*Restore Me is the second book in the Wrecked series

My Review:

"I feel like I single-handedly destroyed what little happiness life offered me; Damon." - Jo

In Restore Me, we pick up where we left off at the end of Wreck Me. Jo feels so much guilt in how she was towards Damon the last time they spoke. If only she would have let him explain, if only she would have listened, if only she could take it all back Damon wouldn't be hurt, he wouldn't be different, he wouldn't be so cold. We get lots more of Hottie Mc.Hotterson, Damon Cole in this book. When he started off being so cold at the hospital to Jo I thought, "Oh no! What has happened to our hot, in charge, yet still caring man?" Damon struggles with the guilt from the accident that killed Jo's parents. Instead of the charismatic man we knew, Damon is like a zombie. Thankfully, Jo is determined to get her loving man back, no matter what.

"I meant what I said," I whisper. "I love you. I won't quit. I'll help you out of this."

In the beginning, instead of the seductive make you melt lover, Damon is cold and brutal with Jo. She knows he's hurting but there is still only so much she can take.

"I won't leave him again. I'll never desert him like that again, but this treatment is hard to stomach." ...... "Do you hate me? Do You want me gone? Is this my punishment? Huh?!"

Grams is still the comic relief and doesn't disappoint. When Jo goes to visit Grams, she finds a gorgeous guy named Andy in her room. Grams openly flirts with Andy and purposefully creates odds and ends for Andy to fix in her room just so she can see him moving around. Andy, much to the irritation of Damon, takes a liking to Jo. I DO NOT trust him!!! He's off somehow. He is shady and gives me the heebee jeebies. I just know he is up to no good. Possibly the person that Damon's father, Edward, is speaking with in the Epilogue?? I guess that remains to be seen.

Oh and Edward....Ugh! RAT BASTARD!!! I just wanted to punch his damn lights out. Seriously. Who treats their son like that? I felt myself shaking with anger when reading about all the horrible things he did to Damon. How atrocious he treated him. I hope he rots in jail and Karma comes back to bite him where it counts.

Jo snoops in the cabinets that Damon is always looking in and finds pages from his childhood diary. The information she sees is heartbreaking. She decides to be honest and confront Damon about it...and boy does she. I was holding my breath while tears were rolling down my face at the same time while reading this part. Damon is filled with this lifetime guilt that he was never good enough, that he was always doing something wrong, that he could have been better somehow. He only wanted his father's love.

From this point, Damon starts becoming more like his old self. Hot, steamy lover. Sweet loving boyfriend. Swoon!

This book is on the shorter side but it still has all the elements we love about Jo and Damon. JL Mac will make you reach for your B.O.B. or significant other in two seconds with her ability to write freaking hot as hell love scenes.

I have high hopes going forward for Damon and Jo...let's just hope Edward, the fucktard, doesn't screw it all up!

"I'd be lost without you. Josepine, you save me a thousand times a day in a thousand different ways and you don't even know it."

*Warning* - Reading Restore Me will result in purchasing copious amounts of strawberries!

**COVER REVEAL** K.A. LINDE - FOLLOWING ME

                               **COVER REVEAL**

                                   FOLLOWING ME

                                     BY K.A. LINDE

                                 SYNOPSIS:

“I knew you were running the first time I saw you…"
Devon didn’t have a game plan when she decided to leave St. Louis on a Chicago-bound train for the summer. Just a reason. One she couldn’t share with anyone.
Not Hadley, her best friend from college, who lets her stay in the guest bedroom; no questions asked. Or Brennan, the bartender at the local restaurant they frequent, who she actively tries to avoid. Or Garrett, Hadley’s boyfriend, who befriends her when she has no one else to turn to.
"I just didn’t know what you were running from...."
Desperate to hide at all costs, Devon plunges into her new life in the city. Everyone around her starts to reveal sides of themselves Devon never expected. And just when she starts to get comfortable, her world flips upside down…
"...but I think all along you were running toward me."
4 lives.
All connected.
All with secrets that just keep following them.

EXCERPT:

Sweat beaded on Devon’s temple, and she wiped it off her forehead and out of her eyes.  The party had been going all night, and it was nice to loosen up and get lost in the music and dancing.  She hadn’t partied in so long, and she couldn’t resist when Amy had actually invited her out.  Either she was getting over her hatred for the new girl, or Devon had just been there long enough that she wasn’t considered the new girl any longer.
People were packed into the club shoulder to shoulder, many even closer than that.  The music was ear-splittingly loud.  Crazy lights traversed the warehouse-sized room, and they alternated to strobes slowing everything down to slow motion.  She hadn’t had much to drink, but she was dizzy with dehydration and the energy in the room.  Her tank top was sticking to her back, and she had long since pulled her hair up off of her neck into a ponytail.
God, I need another drink, she thought.
Her eyes moved around the room taking in as much as she could from her vantage point.  It really only ended up being the two feet encircling her.  Amy had to be somewhere inside the building.  How had she lost track of her?
Well, she knew how.  There were too many damn people in the place.  It was easy to lose track of one person, especially when that person was as short as Amy.  Still, she should have done better. She didn’t like being alone in dark places.  Whether she was surrounded by people or in a back alleyway at night, she was still alone.
She craned her head to look for her, but was having no luck.  It felt like more and more people were being crushed into the space.  How was this in line with fire code?  Surely the place would be shut down soon.
Walking in the direction of the bar, Devon tried to find Amy in the crowd.  Seriously it was getting harder and harder to maneuver through.  She was literally having to elbow people out of the way. This wasn’t okay, and it wasn’t fun.  They shouldn’t let any more people in.  Things could get out of control.
Devon looked up over the heads of people in front of her and sighed.  It felt like she was never going to reach the bar, and there was a huge line anyway.  She thought maybe the bathroom would be a better alternative…at least there she would have some privacy.
She turned to walk the other direction and slammed right into a meaty guy in front of her, who glared at her as she lost her balance and tumbled to the floor.  Someone stepped on her hand as she tried to get up.  Devon swore and hissed pulling her hand away from the ground where someone else could do the same thing.  She stood as best she could, cradling her aching hand.  It wasn’t easy pushing through people with one hand pressed between her breasts to keep from someone else smashing into it.  All it did was cause people to unknowingly smash into other parts of her.  She hadn’t made it more than a few feet toward the bathroom, and she had already been elbowed in the arm, gotten her foot stepped on, and been drunkenly body slammed knocking the breath out of her.  The club was getting dangerous.
A space opened in the crowd, and she took advantage, rushing forward through the throng of people. It took her closer to the bathroom but not close enough.  Then she felt it.  Eyes on the back of her head.  She didn’t even know how it was possible.  There were hundreds of people in the place.  No one could be focusing that intently on her, but she could swear that someone was watching her.
