Accept Me
By J.L. Mac
Synopsis:
For the first time in her life, 25-year-old Josephine Geroux has a future worth looking forward to. She has her beloved bookstore, she has all the comforts that money can buy, she has found the love of her life, and most importantly, she has found hope where there was none for 16 long years.
After the tragic deaths of her parents and her troubled life as an orphan, she met Damon Cole, a man who has everything to do with it all. He’s part of the reason for her wrecked life, but he’s also the reason that her heart has been restored. He’s her future and the exact reason that she’s so willing to fight the demons from his past that threaten the very future that she so desperately seeks.
In the final book of the Wrecked series, Jo is confronted with a turbulent history that has her negotiating the twists and turns that end up being far more difficult to handle than she ever could have anticipated. Jo’s relationship with enigmatic Damon is delicate at best, especially after she inadvertently discovers details about his life that may have been better left buried.
Since Damon’s dark past has remained hidden for so long, Jo’s investigation puts her dangerously close to jeopardizing her already fragile relationship with the man she loves.
Jo has a promising future at her fingertips; she must decide if revealing the truth to Damon is a gamble she’s willing to take. With so much at stake, acceptance proves to be Jo’s greatest battle to date.

~ My Thoughts ~
Accept Me is the conclusion to Jo and Damon's story. Their journey has been long and filled with many obstacles. While Jo was able to heal from her past a while ago, Damon is still finding things about his that bring him to his knees.
How do you deal with finding out that you are the product of something that never should have happened? Do you get angry? Do you break down? Do you move on?
Damon, in his ever reclusive behavior, pushes Jo away. I wanted to beat his ass. Really. After everything they have been through he is going to cut tail and run? The bottom line is, he doesn't think he is good enough for Jo and now, after finding out more details about his life he spirals into an even bigger depression.
We find out more about Noni and what led her to give Damon up. My heart broke for her. No one should ever have to go through that. Ever.
Even though this book was short and Damon pissed me off...again, I'm giving it four stars. I'm giving it four stars for the writing. If your writing can make someone yell out loud and feel hate for a characters behavior then you know the author is good. So read it, and see if Damon can get his head out of his ass for an HEA. Ha!
Excerpt
It was Damon who recognized how important the bookstore was to me and Damon who saved the store that spared me from homelessness over seven years ago. He was there when I found Captain on his living room floor. He was there in the hospital when I said goodbye to the man who was like a father to me. Captain was a crotchety old bastard but he was mine and watching him slip away in that hospital bed destroyed the heart I didn’t think I had. Damon stood watch as I mourned. While the initial burn of heartache has waned, I still ache for Captain, and Damon sees me through it. He always has.
Months ago, on June 8th, I stared at my reflection in my tiny bathroom mirror, thinking about how shitty that day was going to be. The anniversary of my parents’ death was like doomsday every year. If I had known that was the day I would meet the love of my life… again…I would have gone to work early and maybe taken more time doing my hair and makeup.
He poured into my life like the sunshine that followed him into the store that morning and I’ve been his ever since. I’ve been his the entire time, really, almost as if it was by design…like I was never even my own to give.
I’m not the type to believe in bullshit fairytales, but I do believe in what’s tangible. I believe in what I can see and touch, and what I have with my Big Man is real. It’s raw and so damn powerful that it took my miserable ass and shook me down to the frame, leaving me stripped and ready to rebuild. Four months ago, he came walking into my life and I had no idea what was ahead of me. Before Damon, I was alone in every sense of the word. We both went out on a limb to give our relationship a shot. Relationships were an unexplored frontier for me, but I was ready to map it out with Damon. Damaged or not, he was worth the risk. Given our respective histories filled with loss and disappointment, making a go of it was more difficult than I could have imagined.

Don't Hate The Player...Hate The Game
By, Katie Ashley
*Review*
***** 5 FREAKING AWESOME STARS***** Synopsis: For Noah Sullivan being the best friend to a douche bag and player like Jake Nelson has never been easy. It's been a rocky road since kindergarten when Jake duct taped Noah to his chair before recess. With just six weeks to high school graduation, Jake accidentally blows his drunken ass up on his grandfather's tractor, and Noah finds himself immersed not only in a whirlwind of grief, but on a quest to find a mystery girl from Jake's past. While cleaning out Jake's room, Noah and Jake's dad make a startling discovery. Instead of the obligatory porn collection or pot stash, they find a ring, but not just any ring. Its half a carat of commitment in a platinum setting-proving even man whores have taste. After Jake's mom pleads with Noah to find the girl who meant so much to Jake, Noah begins a modern day Grail quest to track the girl down. Since Jake was a notorious player with a legendary collection of trophy panties, Noah finds himself in over his head. There are the usual suspects like Avery, the Ice Princess Jake dated for appearances, or Presley, the school mattress Jake dated for convenience. But the trail begins to point to the most unlikely of suspects: Maddie, the Valedictorian and choir girl who was trying to help the unmotivated jock graduate--the girl who also has surprisingly caught Noah's eye and meddled with his heart. Hanging out with Maddie shows Noah a different side of Jake--one that was deeply human and surprisingly douche-free. And the more he tries to solve the mystery of the ring and of Jake, the more Noah starts to discover about himself and of love. MY REVIEW:Oh.My.Gosh. I loved this book so much! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this wonderful book to read and review. I will definitely be adding it to my e-book and, if available, paperback collection! Noah is a typical eighteen year old boy. He parties a lot, messes around with girls, and doesn't really have too many cares in the world ... or so it seems from the outside. However, like his deceased friend, Jake, there is more to Noah then even he realizes. On his quest to find out who the ring Jake had in his room belongs to, he meets Maddie. Maddie is a good church going girl, completely opposite in her beliefs than Noah and his crowd but wonderfully non-judge mental. Noah finds himself drawn to her and wanting to be around her more and more. Maddie helps Noah deal with his grandfathers death, he died two years ago, and Noah never really grieved the way he should have. She also helps him deal with Jake's death. Noah feels comfort and safe when he is around Maddie and he is a better person when he is around her. Noah and his eighteen year old attitude pissed me off a lot in this book. I realize he was angry and sad and didn't know how to deal with his emotions but, I wanted to give him a good slapping around a time or two. His mom was probably the best kind of mom he could have. She was so forgiving and just there for him when he needed her. She had a strong motherly instinct and knew when Noah was upset. I don't know if I would have been as forgiving if my son had said the things to me that Noah said to his mom...at least not that quickly. Although Noah feels such a strong connection with Maddie, he struggles with feeling like he is being a bad best friend to Jake and taking his girl. I found myself yelling at my Kindle telling Noah that his friend is dead!!! And, he didn't even know the extent of Jake and Maddie's relationship. I wanted Noah and Maddie to be together sooo bad I was hoping Noah stopped being a douche nozzle long enough to see what was right in front of him. Read it and find out what secrets are unlocked, who the ring was meant for and what happens between Noah and Maddie. This book kept my attention the whole time I was reading it and I never wanted to put it down. It's a YA novel told from Noah's POV. There is no sex, however the UST is pretty hot at times. In my opinion, Katie Ashley has hit it out of the park again with another fantastic book and I would love to see her write a book about Noah's cousin, Alex. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge, Katie Ashley! (Book 2- Songs of Submission)
4 Stars ****
tease. - Holy Freaking Hot Balls!!!!!
"Jonathan was master of my nudity, my positions, and my orgasms, and though the first screw of the evening should have satisfied any normal woman for the night, minutes after it was done, I wanted him again."
So, Tease starts off naughty right from the start with Monica daydreaming about her time with Jonathan before he left for Korea. We get all the details; hot, make your panties melt details. And let me just say that Jonathan is a very skilled lover!
Being in this...relationship if you will, with Jonathan makes Monica's voice more sultry, and more captivating. She is more focused on her career and it is certainly taking off.
Jonathan's dominant side comes out in this book. He is teaching Monica to always ask for what she wants and to not be ashamed. While he is caring towards her, his heart is still guarded. They make a deal that they will have fun, but if she feels like her heart will be affected they cut all ties before it's too late. I think Monica is already at this point but she doesn't want to admit it or get her heart broken. Can't say I blame her.
"I watched the sun come up through Jonathan's window, felt his breath on my neck, and thought don't fall in love don't fall in love don't fall in love."
Monica and Jonathan attend an art show, where both of their ex's, Kevin and Jessica, have exhibits. Monica and Jessica meet and you can feel the tension. I'm not sure why Jessica would have a problem since SHE is the bitch that slept with another man but to me it really seemed like she did not like seeing Jonathan with another woman. Kevin, Monica's ex has set up an exhibit all about her. She and Jonathan go through it and Monica becomes very emotional and runs out. Jonathan follows her and comforts her.
>b>"If you have never seen the beauty in a moment of suffering, you have never seen beauty at all."
Jonathan drops Monica off at her place and says he is going on a business trip the next day and will see her when he gets back into town.
The next day, while Monica is working at the bar, Jonathan's ex, Jessica comes in with one of her friends. Her wrist is wrapped up and when Monica asks her about it her response shocks Monica. I personally think she is a big liar and that her current boyfriend had a hand in that situation but I'm not positive. Monica freaks out, feeling betrayed and her heart is broken. Along with that she is getting texts from her ex, Kevin asking to meet her to meet him somewhere and Darren asking if she has seen Gabby! I think the shit is about to hit the fan. I have a bad feeling about Gabby, and I hope Monica is strong enough to make the right choices regarding everything else.
I need book three, Submit, now!!!!!
Love this series so far! CD Reiss you are an awesome writer.

beg.- CD Reiss
(Book 1 - Songs of Submission)
4 Stars ****
Beg is the first book in a series that was called, Los Angeles Nights, but now has been renamed Songs of Submission.
From the author:
"This series is structured like a serial TV Show. Novellas will be released every 4 to 6 weeks, with a break between sequences of 3-4 books. Each novella episode will be between 20 and 30 thousand words, and they'll all end with unanswered questions. Sequence ends won't be as cliffy as episode ends."
I'm not usually someone who likes to read novellas unless they are an added bonus to a full length book. However, the first two books in this series were so fantastic that I found I wanted more, more ,more with each word.
Beg is mostly introducing us to all the characters. Monica, an aspiring singer/waitress/student/friend/lover. Gabby, a suicidal girl who wants to hit it big playing the piano/keyboard with Monica singing vocals. Gabby's brother, Darren, who plays the drums in their band and whom Monica dated for a while but are now just friends. And, of course Jonathan Drazer. A wealthy business man who was heartbroken when his wife left him, rumored to now be a womanizer.
Monica meets Jonathan at the hotel bar she works at one evening, which he owns. He eyes her up and down and she feels her whole body heat up just from his gaze. Unfortunately, some douche pushes into Monica while she is about to serve Jonathan his drink and she ends up spilling the whole tray all over him. Monica's manager ends up firing her. Jonathan tells Monica that he thinks she would be a good fit at his friend's hotel bar and he would put in a word for her.
Monica gets the job and one night she see's Jonathan at the bar speaking to Sam, his friend and the owner. Sparks fly between them again and the banter between them is fantastic.
"We looked at each other for a second or ten. I had nothing to add to the conversation, but his magnetic pull made words irrelevant."
Monica meets Jonathan after work that night and oh holy hotness! That man knows how to work it! I was turned on and getting hot and bothered from this point on with each of their interactions.
"Come on text you're friend and tell them who you're with in case I'm a psycho killer."
"He pushed me against the car. The hardness between his legs felt enormous on my thigh."
Is it hot in here or is it just me? Man oh man. The kissing, the sucking, the licking, the begging. This book will transfer you to a sexual fantasy land!
At the end of Beg, you wonder:
What will happen with Monica and Jonathan?
Is this all for them?
Will Jonathan call Monica when he gets back from Korea?
Find out in book two, Tease.

"When I take you, you'll know exactly what we're doing, what you're feeling, and I won't stop until your legs are shaking and the neighbors know my name."
Holy freaking hell, I LOVED Will!!!
We see how Will and Meg interact at the end of book 2, Fight With Me. You can tell that their relationship will be intense and it definitely was in Play With Me. Meg thinks Will, the brother of her friend Jules, is just an arrogant, asshole, football star. Will is the quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks and tries to maintain a certain public persona that is different from the real him. He comes off cocky and conceded and Meg wants nothing to do with him. Meg, a cancer nurse at Seattle Children's hospital has been trying to get the Seahawks to come visit her patients for a while to no avail. Every time she calls, she is told that the team gets many requests a year and that they cannot fulfill her request at this time. This places a big strike against Will in Meg's eyes even though Will has no idea about the request. Of course, as soon as he finds out, Will brings a few of his team mates up to the hospital with gifts and they surprise the patients. One in particular, a terminal seventeen year old boy, who played football before he was diagnosed with cancer, is shocked when the Seahawk players come into his room. Meg decides that Will isn't so bad after all. But, Meg has trouble trusting people and letting them close to her heart. She comes from a shitty mother, who neglected her and made her life hell. Meg was taken away to live in foster homes. She met Leo, who taught her to not take crap from anyone and to stand up for herself. He taught her how to play the guitar as well. Leo was like a brother to Meg and the only person in her life that she trusted. When Leo left for L.A. to pursue his music career Meg was crushed. She thought Leo was running out on her.
Despite Meg's trust issues, she can't deny that there is a strong attraction towards Will. She definitely feels the intense heat and passion when they are together. Let me tell you, Kristen Proby, absolutely knows how to write a love scene that makes you HOT! I've felt lately that the loves scenes in the books I've read are boring. Either, there are too many or they just didn't make me feel warmed up. In this book however, the heat was perfect! I found I was getting hot and bothered the way I feel you should when two passionate people are getting it on. These scenes had it all too: ass smacking, a piercing, kitchen counters, car hoods, etc...
I have to say that I fell in love with Will. He turned out to be the most romantic sweet man. The things he did for Meg and said to her made me swoon every damn time. He wasn't so goody goody that he was boring either. He had a little bad boy in him too, which I love.
If you are looking for a sweet, mostly drama free, hot lovin' book, then you should read this. I can't wait to see how Will and Meg's relationship develops and find out what happens with Leo and Samantha in the next book, Rock with Me.

Falling Into You- Jasinda Wilder
4 1/2 Stars ****
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Falling Into You by Jasinda Wilder. I had read the blurb and knew kind of what to expect, except I didn't realize it would be THAT intense, THAT emotional. This book had me soooo full of heartache then hope, then more heartache, and so on. I cried like a baby for a good part of the book.
Nell and Kyle have been best friends since they were little kids. Only friends. Then one day, when they are 16 years old, everything changes and friends become lovers. They are bf/gf for a happy two years. Then one weekend they take a trip to Kyle's parents cabin where Kyle plans a romantic weekend. Sadly, tragedy strikes during a horrendous storm and Kyle doesn't survive.
"My last thought was that Kyle was dead. Kyle was dead. He saved me, and now he's dead. Sobs echoed, echoed, wrenched from a ruined heart."
Nell, understandably, is completely beside herself. She doesn't speak to anyone, doesn't cry, doesn't show any emotion, just wars an internal battle within herself. Colton, Kyle's older brother, who Nell hasn't seen in years tries to comfort her when she runs off, unable to handle the funeral processions. Colton understands Nell's need for silence, he understands her pain and how she is choosing to deal with it.
"You can't hold it in forever. .... You're not broken, you're hurting....You'll go crazy. It'll come out one way or another."
Nell and Colton feel an attraction towards each other right away. They both know it's wrong to feel it so soon after Kyle's death. Neither can explain it, they just know they are drawn to each other.
Two years later in NYC, Nell runs into Colton again. She see's him playing his guitar in Central Park with his guitar case open for money. Colton finds that Nell still isn't healed, still hasn't grieved properly and is in even worse shape than she was before. He has been where she is, he knows she is not okay. He tries to get her to admit that she isn't okay and to feel the pain, feel anything really. She just stopped caring, stopped living after Kyle's death, too afraid of what will happen to her if she lets go, afraid she will forget him.
"I want you to let yourself be broken. Let yourself be hurt....Get mad. Be hurt. Be broken. Cry."
Nell and Colton are still drawn to each other, only now the attraction is even stronger than before. Nell and Colton struggle with feeling like they are betraying their lost loved ones but they know they must keep on living. Nell learned to play the guitar and has a fantastic singing voice. The music they sing together is so fantastic, so emotional, so healing. They play in clubs together and draw big crowds. They come together and in the process heal each other. They experience heartbreak, laughter, love, and they "Fall into each other".
I loved this book so much. Jasinda Wilder is an exceptional author. I wish there would have been an epilogue or perhaps maybe there will be a book 2? The book ended on an abrupt note for me. I want more. I want to know how Nell and Colton are doing now. Do they make it? What happens to them in the future? Please write a book 2 Jasinda! :)
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. Esp. if you need a good cleansing of the soul.

5 Stars!!!
"Holy Hell! What!?! No freaking way! Are you kidding me? What the fuckity fuck fuck????"- These are just a few of my thoughts while reading this fantastic mind bender by Aleatha Romig.
If you are looking for a sweet romance with a loved up hero and heroine ...this is not that book. If you like a psychological thriller full of suspense and intrigue that keeps you guessing from one minute to the next, then this book is right up your alley.
*Note* While this book does have rape and physical abuse it is not too graphic in detail and should be okay for weak stomachs to digest.
This book starts us off by meeting Claire, an ex meteorologist turned bartender in Indiana. She is approached by the multi-billionaire Anthony Rawlings while she is working one night. They chat and he asks her out to dinner. She excepts thinking he is a charming and sweet man, really he is anything but. After their date, Claire wakes up the next morning with no idea where she is and how she got there. Her memory starts to return as she recalls being raped and abused and captured beyond her will the night before by none other than the man she thought so different just the last evening. She is kept in Anthony's mansion against her will with no access to phone, computer, or car. All of her free will's are taken away and only some are given back with limits and always in the presence of Tony Rawlings. I hated this man so much. Even towards the middle of the book when maybe just maybe we might see a teeny tiny inkling of goodness in Tony, I didn't buy it. He seems like the most evil, deceitful, angry, bipolar man there is. I felt like throwing up whenever he came into the same room as Claire, not knowing what to expect. When Claire had the opportunity to flee and didn't I was pissed at her, thinking how could she be so stupid? I was yelling at my Kindle telling her to, "Get the fuck out of there!!!!" I understand that Anthony has this towering dominant personality and she was scared out of her mind to leave and maybe I would have done the same as her in that situation but lord I hope not.
This book kept me awake at night, infiltrated my dreams, and crawled into my brain and took residence. The minute you think you have everything figured out, BAM!!!, nope it all changes. I was kept on the edge of my seat for a huge portion of this book waiting with baited breath to see what would happen. Anthony's horrid unthinkable actions have no bounds and I am eager to see if he is exposed in book two, Truth.
The author placed quotes appropriately throughout the book; here are a few of my favorites:
"What is love? Love is when one person knows all of your secrets, your deepest darkest, most dreadful secrets of which no one else in the world knows. And yet in the end, that one person does not thing any less of you."
"You have to accept whatever comes and the only important thing is that you meet it with courage and with the best that you have to give.- Eleanor Roosevelt

"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing you think you cannot do." - Eleanor Roosevelt
Let me start off by saying that I am not usually someone who likes to read psychological thrillers or mysteries even if there is a romance aspect. My typical read is a traditional boy meets girl, they fall in love, there's conflict, then resolution, then an HEA all wrapped up in a nice package. Consequences and Truth are definitely NOT like that. However, they kept me on the edge of my seat and kept my attention the entire time! I kept waiting and wanting to find out what happened next and who was responsible for what. I had formed my own theories throughout reading and some came to be correct while others were squashed away with new information learned. It came to a point where I was going over each character in my head and thinking, "Is it you? Did you do this?" What motive did they have? or Why would they do that? I suspected everyone and trusted no one. Is it Amber? Is it Catherine? Is it Eric? Is it Tony? Is is John? Is it Harry? etc....
Speaking of Harry...sweet, gentle, UN-Tony like Harry. *sighs* He is such a good guy. Yeah, I think that's all I can say without spoiling anything.
My hate for Tony at the beginning of Truth was extreme from his actions in Consequences. In Truth, he is able to redeem himself a bit in my eyes and show the "real" Tony. (maybe?) #hopeful#wishfulthinking
I found myself hurting for him when he hurt and my heart ached for him toward the end. Tony was never shown real love as a child so how can you know what love is and how to give something you've never been given? So much fell out of his control towards the end that I was afraid for him and what would happen.
A lot of questions were formed and answered during this book. My mouth was either open or I was gritting my teeth for a big part of it. I really hope that who we are led to believe is with Claire at the end, is the person we think/hope it is. His name is actually never spoken so I'm anxious to see how that plays out in the next book, Convicted.
"You cannot make the same mistake twice. Because the second time you make it, it is not a mistake it is a choice."
Aleatha Romig is a fantastic writer and has written a series that is action packed and suspenseful and will keep you on your toes right from the first page. You never know what will happen and who will turn up next. I'm excited to see what the evil character we learned about in Truth will do next. There is still so much more to the story and I can't wait until the end of 2013/(hopefully!)(Please I'm begging you Mrs. Romig)or beginning of 2014 for Convicted.

Beneath This Man- Jodi Ellen Malpas
(Book 2)
***** 5 Freaking intense, emotional, aggravating rip your heart out stars!!!!!
"Who holds the power Ava?" - Jesse
*Note* Check out the awesome playlist for this book on This Man's Facebook page!
If you thought This Man was great, then you have to read the second book in this series. It is surely filled with tons of emotional, heart wrenching angst. I can't say too much yet, as this book is still new and I don't want to spoil it for anyone.
While I admit that when I really think about it, I can understand some of Ava and Jesse's actions in this book, most of the time they just pissed me off! They are so determined to not lose each other that their actions hurt more than help in many of the situations that they find themselves in. And, freaking Sarah!!! I.DO.NOT.LIKE.HER.AT.ALL!!!!
I was glued to this book for three days, reading at every available opportunity I had. I was so engrossed in learning more of Jesse's secrets and watching what happens to their relationship after the five day separation at the end of This Man.
I found Ava to be quite spineless and wish she could have stood up to Jesse more. I can see being dominated in some circumstances but not in others where I felt she could have stood her ground. I wanted to punch Jesse in the face multiple times for his transgressions, especially during the five day separation. He is such an alpha, dominant, possessive and quite unreasonable man with is Sense Fucks, Reminder Fucks, and Retribution Fucks. Although, he was quite sweet with Ava other times when she needed him and oh, the sleepy sex...sighs. We do finally get an answer to the whole, "How old are you Jesse?" situation. Ava is quite clever in dragging that out of him...although it comes back to bite her in the ass.
Oh yes...and I would now like to be the proud owner of a rowing machine! I'll let you think on that one. Ha!
They are both so broken, you don't know what will happen with them. Their relationship is up and down and all over the place. Ava see's Jesse's dark, possessive side, his broken vulnerable side, and his loving side. He has deep dark secrets and she knows she can never truly be his and give herself to him fully until he starts communicating with her with words and has revealed all there is to know about himself. Despite how bad it cuts her to know all there is to know.
"You are punishing me, not you."- Ava
"Fuck! Fuck, fuck, fuck. Ava, what have you done?" - Jesse
We still have more to learn about Mr. Jesse Ward and a few other characters that were introduced in this book. What will come of them in the next installment of this series, This Man Confessed? I'm sure we have much more to learn and I hope it all ends as it should when we get the conclusion of Ava and Jesse's story.
"My fear was completely justified; I'm lost in him again."- Ava
Look for This Man Confessed in the Spring of 2013.

Dirty Red- Tarryn Fisher
(Book 2 in The Opportunist Series)
Dear Opportunist,
You thought you could take him from me, but you lost. Now, that he's mine I'll do anything to keep him. Do you doubt me? I have everything that was supposed to be yours. In case you were wondering; he doesn't ever think about you anymore. I won't let him go....ever.
Dirty Red
*My Review*
OMG!!!! I KNEW IT!!!!!!
AHHHHHHH!!!!!
You know I try really hard not to feel hate towards anyone unless it is extremely warranted. This bitch is a FICTIONAL character and I have this intense feeling of hate and loathing towards her! I suppose this shows how great a writer Tarryn Fisher is. But seriously, I felt sorry for Leah about half way through the book and can even MAYBE understand why she is the way she is sometimes. When it all comes down to the end though, she has no one to blame for her miserableness other than herself.
PLEASE Tarryn, give Caleb and Olivia their HEA!
**It's freaking 2:45am and I am too pissed off from this book to sleep! My emotions are all over he place. **
