Synopsis

Will their past determine their future?
Saint Ford has worked hard to achieve her childhood dream of becoming of nurse. Focused on her work and devoted to her patients, there’s no room for love. She doesn’t need a guy making waves in her calm, serene life—especially when he’s the unforgettable hottie who nearly destroyed her in high school. Dark, brooding Nash Donovan might not remember her or the terrible pain he caused. But he turned her world upside down . . . and now he’s trying to do it again.

Saint has no idea that Nash isn’t the cocky player he once was. Uncovering a devastating family secret has rocked his world, and now he’s struggling to figure out his future. He can’t be distracted by the pretty nurse he seems to meet everywhere. Still, he can’t ignore the sparks that fly between them —or how she seems so desperate to get away from him. But the funny, sweet, and drop-dead gorgeous Saint is far too amazing to give up on—especially since she’s the only thing in his life that seems to make sense.

When Nash discovers the truth about their past, he realizes he may have lost her heart before he could even fight for it. Now, Saint has to decide: is Nash worth risking herself for all over again?

I'm supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I'm an natural redhead even though I haven't seen my real hair color in years, I'm a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I've been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that. I love to write, love to read and all I'm interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something. Thanks for taking the time to check my stuff out...

5 STARS *****

I have loved the Marked Men series from Jay Crownover. Nash is the next chapter in this series and it does not disappoint.

Nash and Saint have both been through similar obstacles in their lives. Both feeling unwanted and not good enough.

Nash and Saint's paths have crossed more than once. Recently, at the hospital and in the past at high school. Nash doesn't remember much about Saint from high school, nor does he know about the extreme crush that she had on him that eventually caused Saint to experience life changing heart break.

Now they meet again. This time while Nash's Uncle Phil is in the hospital battling cancer. Saint is a nurse and although she carries hatred for Nash, she can't deny the pull she feels around him. Nash is heartbroken when he learns about his Uncle Phil's fate and even more so once he realizes he has been deceived all these years by the one person he thought was always there and he could trust.

Despite wallowing in his own sadness, Nash is still there for his friends. His one saving grace is Saint. He isn't sure what it is about her but he needs her. He may look tough on the outside, but inside is a sweet man just wanting to be loved and wanted.

Read Nash and follow along Saint and Nash's journey to find what we all want, love.

Moore Than Forever (Needing Moore Series Book 3)

MOORE THAN FOREVER
(Needing Moore Series, Book 3)

Released February 21, 2014

4 STARS ****

In this third and final book in the Needing Moore Series trilogy, Schooner Moore and Mia Silver must learn how to grow together and fight together as a team to hold onto their second chance love.  Continually stumbling on roadblocks and ghosts from their past, can Schooner and Mia take the lessons they've learned and use them to forge a future together.

Mia and Schooner have come a long way since their college days. They have been through so many trials and tribulations. Missed communications and jealous people have gotten in their way at finding true happiness together. But, once they get another chance through a Facebook encounter of all things, maybe their future together looks bright after all.

When we begin Moore Than Forever, Mia has gone into labor early. Scared and anxious and without Schooner there to go through the birth of their son, Mia gathers strength from inside and their beautiful baby boy Nathaniel is born. Mia, BBC that she is, doesn't tell Schooner that she is in labor. Schooner has been in California, trying to get his son Zac straightened out and doesn't realize how much Mia needs him at home with her.

Babies bring such happiness and healing and Nathaniel is no exception. Once he is born, things start to turn around for Schooner's dad, Zac, and well....everyone.

I think one of my favorite parts of the book was the trip to  Zambia, Africa. Great personal growth happens here for a few characters. It's amazing how traveling to different parts of the world can change the perspective of your own life. When you see how other people struggle so hard for a simple thing like water. Things we take for granted in our everyday life. I was so overjoyed to see that Mia was able to experience the same feelings Schooner did when he visited all those years ago. They have the capability to make such a huge difference in those people's lives and they don't waste that.

This final book takes Mia and Schooner from being a he/she to an 'us".  They learn how to communicate with each other and read each other. They heal old wounds, get rid of the demons that haunt them, grow as people, and become a real family.

About the Author

I must've been 5 or 6 when I started writing "stories".  I would write them and hide them. Not wanting anyone to see my "secret" thoughts. I needed to write -even back then.  Now I'm just not hiding them anymore.  Is that a sign of maturity?  Nah ....
Writer, photographer, insatiable wanderluster, edge-player, foodie, music addict, pop culture fanatic, animal lover, warrior for the rights of people and planet, and avid cusser (am a Native New Yorker, so very little offends me ... and if I am offended, it must be pretty freaking bad .. like bad grammar!).
I am big believer in signs and if we keep ourselves open, there are guideposts all along the way. Stay humble. Be true. Be you.
Life is not a dress rehearsal ...

In the Lyrics By Nacole Stayton

                                                          In the Lyrics

                        By Nacole Stayton

                              ** 4.5 Stars **

Synopsis:

Hensley Bradley is the definition of the girl-next-door. She’s kindhearted, beautiful, and talented. Bored with her mundane life, thoughts of fleeing her small town begin to consume her. With aspiring dreams to use her voice as a one-way ticket, she suddenly discovers that music might not be her only passion.

After a fallout back home, Colby Grant decides to leave his family’s farm, determined to show his father he’s more than just a wanna-be country singer. With his All-American good looks, it doesn't take long for girls in his new town to focus their eyes on him. But things aren't what they appear from the outside, and it isn't long until Colby feels he doesn't fit into the perfect world that so quickly embraced him.

A chance encounter places Hensley in Colby’s path, but it isn't her natural beauty that first captures his attention – it’s her voice.

When love and music mix, will the combination blossom into a beautiful melody or wither into a heart-wrenching tune?

My Thoughts:

What would you do if your dream was to be a famous singer and one day you are given the opportunity to fulfill that dream? Only, it means leaving  school, and the person you just started dating, who also happens to have the same dream.

Colby Grant lives on his families farm and he is miserable. Ever since a tragedy struck things have gone way downhill. His father has turned into a mean physical drunk and his mom is a complete wallflower. Colby needs to get away so he transfers to another college. He loads up his guitar and kisses his mamma goodbye.

Hensley Bradley is a guarded girl. She believes love is for losers and music is what drives her. She spends most of her time with her best friend Dusty and even stays at his apartment a lot of the time. She is just waiting for the day she gets her big break and can get out of town and no boy is going to stand in her way.

Hensley and Dusty sing on the street and in bars trying to earn as much money as they can for rent and to chase the big dream. One night they are playing in downtown Nashville and Hensley feels someones eyes on her. When she looks up her pulse races as they check each other out.

Her- "I knew it the moment our eyes locked, and he listened as I sang. Not just to my voice, but to my soul. Colby Grant is going to be hard to keep at a distance..."

Him- "I know all too well that sometimes what we want and what we need are two extremely different things. My aspiring career is why I came here, but she just might be the reason why I stay."

I ADORED Colby! He breaks down all of Hensley's defenses and makes choices, life changing choices, all with her in mind.

Hensley irritated me! I kept thinking, "Gah, can't she see how awesome he is!? What the hell is wrong with her? Why is she such a bitch!?!"

"What is it about those damn dimples that renders me speechless and irritates me? I can't put my finger on it, but it's like being around him brings out the giddy schoolgirl in me at the same time as the raging bitch that hides in my soul."

Colby just happens to be Dusty's new roommate much to Hensley's surprise as this puts a damper in her plan to ignore the attraction she feels towards him.

"Colby?"
"Yes, Sunshine."
"Why do you call me that?"
"Because my world was dark for a long, long time. When I first laid eyes on you, things seemed brighter for once."

Swoon!!! I mean HELLO, how can you not fall for that???
Easy, you can't. So, what happens when Hensley, Dusty, and Colby are playing at a bar one night and music execs show up? What if they only want one of you? Would you go if it was your dream? Would you discuss it with the others? And, if you do accept the execs offer, what happens now?

Nacole Stayton does not disappoint with In the Lyrics. You will be laughing, then screaming, then crying, then screaming again. Read it and find out what happens as Hensley and Colby find each other while chasing their dreams.

Pieces For You is a captivating journey of survival, healing, and sacrifice—teeming with honesty, humor, unexpected twists, and love’s unsurpassed endurance.

*Though Pieces For You is a part of the For You Series, the book can be read as a stand alone.

~ MY REVIEW~

There are books out there that tear you up inside. They claw at your skin forcing you to feel just a little bit of the unimaginable horrors the character goes through. This is one of those books.

"Can someone recover from meeting the devil in person, being violated and beaten by him, and then left for dead?"

Thankfully, it has as much comic relief in it as sadness. You will be crying one minute and laughing your head off the next.

Genna Rulon has created an amazing set of characters who take care of each other and love each other with great passion.

Sam and Everleigh are what best friends are supposed to be. Sam has suffered so much with nightmares and trying to get her life back together after she was attacked. Everleigh takes care of her every step of the way. I loved how strong Sam was. She wasn't going to let her attacker win. She was going to survive and come out strong.

Each day becomes a little easier for Sam. Her therapist, who is awesome by the way, gives her homework. Things she can do to acclimate herself back into society and feel safe. While Sam still understandably has a few setbacks, she does very well moving forward.

"You are one of the few with the bravery to walk through the fire, let it burn you to ash, and rise again, changed but all the more beautiful for it."

Sam is worried that she will never get her libido back and after having a very healthy appetite before the attack she is saddened for the loss of it now. That is until Griffin comes back into her life.
Oh be still my heart! Griffin is a sexy bar owner who has admired Sam for a while but never acted on his feelings. Now that he has a second chance, he isn't going to let anything stand in his way. I loved Griffin. He was so kind, and thoughtful, and patient. He was exactly the kind of guy Sam needed. The connection between them is hot! And, the constant eye fondling made me giggle. Move aside ladies, I think there is a new book boyfriend in the house. Haha.

Seriously though, I loved this book. You know a book is going to be good when you can't put it down from the first page. Genna Rulon knows how to write a fantastic story and this one has it all; Drama, Humor, Heat, and Healing. I can't wait to read more from her.
