Synopsis:
Hensley Bradley is the definition of the girl-next-door. She’s kindhearted, beautiful, and talented. Bored with her mundane life, thoughts of fleeing her small town begin to consume her. With aspiring dreams to use her voice as a one-way ticket, she suddenly discovers that music might not be her only passion.
After a fallout back home, Colby Grant decides to leave his family’s farm, determined to show his father he’s more than just a wanna-be country singer. With his All-American good looks, it doesn't take long for girls in his new town to focus their eyes on him. But things aren't what they appear from the outside, and it isn't long until Colby feels he doesn't fit into the perfect world that so quickly embraced him.
A chance encounter places Hensley in Colby’s path, but it isn't her natural beauty that first captures his attention – it’s her voice.
When love and music mix, will the combination blossom into a beautiful melody or wither into a heart-wrenching tune?

My Thoughts:
What would you do if your dream was to be a famous singer and one day you are given the opportunity to fulfill that dream? Only, it means leaving school, and the person you just started dating, who also happens to have the same dream.
Colby Grant lives on his families farm and he is miserable. Ever since a tragedy struck things have gone way downhill. His father has turned into a mean physical drunk and his mom is a complete wallflower. Colby needs to get away so he transfers to another college. He loads up his guitar and kisses his mamma goodbye.
Hensley Bradley is a guarded girl. She believes love is for losers and music is what drives her. She spends most of her time with her best friend Dusty and even stays at his apartment a lot of the time. She is just waiting for the day she gets her big break and can get out of town and no boy is going to stand in her way.
Hensley and Dusty sing on the street and in bars trying to earn as much money as they can for rent and to chase the big dream. One night they are playing in downtown Nashville and Hensley feels someones eyes on her. When she looks up her pulse races as they check each other out.
Her- "I knew it the moment our eyes locked, and he listened as I sang. Not just to my voice, but to my soul. Colby Grant is going to be hard to keep at a distance..."
Him- "I know all too well that sometimes what we want and what we need are two extremely different things. My aspiring career is why I came here, but she just might be the reason why I stay."
I ADORED Colby! He breaks down all of Hensley's defenses and makes choices, life changing choices, all with her in mind.
Hensley irritated me! I kept thinking, "Gah, can't she see how awesome he is!? What the hell is wrong with her? Why is she such a bitch!?!"
Colby just happens to be Dusty's new roommate much to Hensley's surprise as this puts a damper in her plan to ignore the attraction she feels towards him.
"Colby?"
"Yes, Sunshine."
"Why do you call me that?"
"Because my world was dark for a long, long time. When I first laid eyes on you, things seemed brighter for once."
Swoon!!! I mean HELLO, how can you not fall for that???
Easy, you can't. So, what happens when Hensley, Dusty, and Colby are playing at a bar one night and music execs show up? What if they only want one of you? Would you go if it was your dream? Would you discuss it with the others? And, if you do accept the execs offer, what happens now?
