My Review:
Mystery, Intrigue, Treasure Hunting, and yes Romance, this
book has it all!
Lane and Maddox were always playing together as kids. Maddox constantly teased Lane and gave her a hard time. They say when a boy likes a girl, he picks on her. Lane didn't feel like Maddox liked her that way but she definitely swooned over him. Before Maddox goes into the Army, he and Lane share an intimate night. Things don't end well and they don't see each other again until three years later when Maddox comes home after being medically discharged from the Army.
Over the summer Lane hangs up her toe shoes and comes to work at her grandmother's brewery. When Lane's grandmother buys a Cherokee painting at an auction there is a man there who also bid for it. He was not happy to lose the auction since that painting has ties to his families past. He decides to take matters into his own hands and get the painting back no matter what.
When Lane accidentally bumps the painting off the wall the frame breaks and she finds a treasure map. Her grandmother, determined to keep the map safe, hides it. The events that unfold next are intense and the story keeps you on the edge of your seat to see what happens.
As Lane and Maddox go on a treasure hunt old wounds are opened and closed and re-opened. They go on an exciting crazy adventure that brings them closer than they have ever been.
This book was different from what we have seen from Katie Ashley but just as wonderful. Her writing is fun and flows well. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a light mystery with romance.

Has a little bit of everything, thriller, mystery and romance. Maddox is already under my skin. Another great read from Katie Ashley!
ReplyDeleteSearch me was a fantastic read. Romance, treasure hunt and right when you thought they figured everything out...boom they were on the run again. It was an on the edge of your seat read for me. Plus Maddox is hot and a Veteran just my type.
