My Review:

I'm sitting here and I don't even know how to start this review. I mean, what can I say that will possibly even convey the emotions I felt while reading this brilliant, heartbreaking story? I was on the edge of my seat at one in the morning not knowing how I wanted the book to end. I even messaged Rebecca about it because I was so torn!
Unbreakable will break you down. It will break you down and make you cry, laugh, yell, awe, and repeat.
Gabe Garcia's family happens to live across the street from Jess and her dad. His family treats her like one of their own. Jess's mom died when she was a young girl and her father, a fire chief, punked out (in my opinion). He didn't know how to be a father, so he threw himself into his work and pretty much ignored Jessica and allowed the Garcia's to practically raise her. Ava, Gabe's sister, is Jess's best friend and they do everything together. Jessica is a very outgoing happy go lucky person until one day the unthinkable happens.

"Being a wallflower is definitely not my style. I normally work the room; socializing, making the rounds-enjoying myself. I usually know everyone and am rarely the outsider."

What if one day something happens to you that changes your whole perspective of the world? What happens when everything you held safe in your life falls apart? Could you go on?

"You and I. Nothing will break us, ever. Not this. Do you hear me Jess? We're unbreakable."

Sometimes in the face of tragedy you don't feel unbreakable, you feel weak. You feel like you need a change. Jessica faces this challenge and the decisions she makes sets the course for what happens next. As Jess is trying to start over, she meets Landon (swoon). He happens to be her co-interns bad boy brother and someone that Jess is drawn to. I wasn't sure if I wanted her to end up with Gabe or Landon, but I definitely felt the connection between her and Landon and at one point I was leaning towards Team Landon. You can decide for yourself who you think she should choose. I don't want to tell you too much and take away from your reading experience but just know that there is an HEA and there is a Book 2 coming! Which, I need asap please Rebecca Shea!

*** Deleted Scene ***

New Years Eve-Gabe POV

Watching Jess juggle four glasses of champagne is almost humorous. She’s trying to squeeze her way through the small groups of people gathered in Luke’s apartment, and is holding the glasses above her head so they don’t get bumped. She’s wearing a too short black dress with high heels and stands taller than many of the people gathered around her. I love how those shoes make her legs look even longer. Later tonight, she’ll be in nothing but those heels and I can’t wait to wrap those legs around me.
“Let me help you,” I say reaching out to grab two of the glasses as she finally wiggles through the crowd.
“When did all these people get here? I was in the kitchen for three minutes and I think forty people showed up,” she laughs and shakes her head.
Ava steps up and takes a glass of champagne from me and Adrian takes a glass from Jess.
“Sixty seconds until the new year!” Ava announces and wraps her arm through Adrian’s, sidling up next to him. I pull Jess to my side as we all try to follow the countdown on the large screen TV in Luke’s living room. Jess laces her fingers through mine, and leans in pressing a light kiss to my lips.
“You’re suppose to kiss me at midnight,” I mumble against her lips.
“I can kiss you whenever I want Gabriel you’re mine now,” she smiles and presses another kiss to my lips. I love when she tells me I’m her. I’ve always been, she just never knew it.
Everyone in the room starts counting, “ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one…Happy New Year!” I pull Jess into me and plant a kiss on her soft lips. Her arms wrap around my neck as she deepens the kiss.
“You make me the happiest man alive Jess,” I whisper into her ear. She nips her teeth against the soft skin just below my ear and let’s out a low mewl.
“And you make me the happiest girl alive Mr. Garcia. Thank you for loving me,” she whispers back. “Now can you please take me home, I have other ideas of how I’d like to start my new year.”

Synopsis:

Meet Liv and Danny...

Liv loves Danny. She knows she loves him more than he loves her, so she lets him go without a fight when his parents make him move back to America. She knows she will never love anyone like she loved him, but she has to move on.

Danny loves Liv. He knows he loves her more than she loves him, because she does nothing to get him to stay, so he goes quietly when his parents leave the UK. He knows he will never love anyone like he loved her, but he has to move on.

Twelve years on, they have made a good job of pretending, they may have almost forgotten. But when they get in touch via Facebook, it seems that it is all still there.

They quickly find that they are intensely compatible in ways they hadn’t even begun to explore before they were forced apart.

Can they put aside their fears and give it a go? Or will deep rooted doubts and insecurities tear them apart?

Review:

If you had the chance to reunite with a lost love would you? What if one day you were talked into joining Facebook and then a short time later received a message from a man that was once everything to you? How would you feel? Nervous? Excited? Cautious? All of the above?

Twelve years ago Liv and Danny were forced apart after Danny's father's job moves them back to the States. After being inseparable since they were young, going from best friends and later moving forward to lovers, they have to say goodbye. Heart broken, each believing they love the other more, they move on with their lives...kind of. They each had a rough time of it and finally were able to seek solace in a platonic friend of the opposite sex. Max (LOVED HIM!) was there for Liv and Jen (LOVE HER!) for Danny. They both had other relationships in the past years but nothing ever felt right. None of them were the "ONE". Something was always missing.

One ping changes everything. A conversation through message is struck up. Emotions and old feelings return. But, is it worth it to pursue? That is Liv's question. After all, with Liv being in the UK and Danny being in the States, it's not like its a quick trip to see each other.

   Let's chat about the characters...

Liv-

I loved this girl. Strong, independent, bar/diner owner, tattooed, hot chick! After all she has been through, I understood why she was questioning things but I also felt the love she had for Danny and the heartbreak as well.

Danny-

Hot, hot, hot, hot, .... oh and HOT!!!!

I loved Danny! I loved how much he loved Liv. I loved that he wasn't afraid to take a chance. I loved they way he adored her. Smart, strong, skills in the bedroom, what else could a girl want?

I was heartbroken for him as well.

Max-

Sweet sweet man. Supportive best friend to Liv. I wanted to be friends with him and his husband! That's right, sorry ladies, this one bat's for the other team. I loved that he was there for Liv when she needed him most.

Jen-

Jen is Danny's best friend. She is married and going through her own struggles with trying to get pregnant. She is an awesome motivating friend to Danny. She cheers him on to go after what he wants and is there when he needs advice.

Liv's diner/bar is called Lady Luck's and she has brought it a long way from when she inherited it.

Just Human is told from both point's of view, which I love because then you know what each person is thinking and feeling.
I wanted to yell at them some of the time for their thoughts but most of the time I was swooning.

*Warning*- There is a cliff hanger at the end of this book but you shouldn't let that deter you. Think about all the books you've read with cliff hangers and how even though, yes, it makes you want to jump up and down and scream and stalk the author until book 2 is out, but also how excited you are when it is released and how it just makes you want to come back for more.

I won't get into why the cliffhanger is there as I don't want to spoil anything but you should definitely add this book to your TBR! You will NOT be disappointed. Kerry Heavens is a fantastic author who makes you want to keep coming back for more.

Inevitable- Angela Graham

                                                             Inevitable

                          By Angela Graham

4 1/2 STARS!!!

Synopsis:

After experiencing a humiliating breakup, twenty-two-year-old Cassandra Clarke is fresh out of college and living a simple solitary life without any intentions of pursuing love anytime soon.

When the estate next door sells, the last thing Cassandra expects is the unnerving attraction she feels for her sinfully handsome neighbor, Logan West, the young and charming single father with a playboy reputation.

It’s through Oliver, Logan’s four-year-old son, who keeps popping up in her childhood tree house, that she slowly begins to catch glimpses of the compassionate and wounded man Logan has hidden beneath his strong exterior.

Cassandra knows it's wrong and that she's heading for another heartbreak.
Logan will never be able to give her what she wants…love.

My Thoughts:

*Warning*- May cause excessive yelling and frustration towards a certain male character named Logan. Oh...and there is a cliff hanger...but I think it will be worth the wait to see what happens.

PLEASE GIVE US BOOK 2 ASAP ANGELA GRAHAM!

Okay...

Cassandra has had it with men ever since she walked in on her douchenozzle of a boyfriend getting it on with the town hussy. She packs her things and moves to the country and into her grandparents house that now belongs to her. I loved Cassandra. She is a realist and doesn't let anything cloud her judgement...for the most part. A year has passed since her breakup and she just got her first teaching job at a nearby school educating Kindergarten kids a few days a week. She runs every morning without fail until one day she is out running with her best friend and realizes she has a new neighbor...a distracting, handsome, charming, new neighbor. Logan West is the father of a four year old son, Oliver. Oliver stole my heart. He is the sweetest little boy and he loves life and Cassandra's treehouse! She finds him there and an instant connection is made. Logan however sparks a different reaction out of her. She knows he isn't a relationship sort of man but she can't help the pull she feels towards Logan. I have to hand it to her though, she stuck to her guns and didn't sway in her decision to only be his friend for most of the book.

Logan West is complicated. I think that is the best way to describe him. I wanted to yell and scream at him so many times and then give him a big hug. We don't learn a whole lot about him since he is so reserved. We do find out that he was hurt badly by Oliver's mother and ever since then he has closed his heart to relationships. Towards the middle/end I felt Logan changing. I feel like he wanted to take a chance so much, however he lets his past get in the way...more than once and to his detriment. Right when you think everything is going to work out...WHAM!.... cliff hanger and what a big one. I can't wait to see what happens next in Book #2.

"Please, Cassandra. Wake up, sweetheart. I'll do anything. I need you. You're all I've ever needed. All I've ever wanted."

Synopsis:

*Novella-Prequel to Moving Forward*

Jake Reynolds’ life had always been perfectly mapped out for him as he was growing up. The only time he ever felt like he had any control over it was when he was inside the cage—the same cage that held no for sure outcome. In his twisted mind being inside that ring with his opponent was the most freeing feeling. In that moment alone he was able to let his perfected guard down and be who he wanted to be.

From the outside looking in, everything about Jake’s life looked perfect, but he knew that he wasn’t. His whole life had been set up for him before he was even born, and even though it’s not the life he wanted, he continued living it.

When you have everything you could ever want at your fingertips, why screw it up?

That was his mindset until the night Jesika showed up at his fight. He knew she was different from the get-go. He also knew he didn’t deserve her, but that didn’t mean he didn’t want to try. Jake had skills inside and out of the cage and he was known to always get what he wanted no matter the risk. No Going Back

Synopsis:

Life isn’t always about fairytales and happily ever-after’s according to Seth Jordan. After having his world shattered and heartbroken beyond repair, he had always sworn off the idea of love. He was perfectly content with continuing his life with worthless one night stands and no strings attached sex. That was until one blue-eyed blonde managed to seep into places he thought were cemented shut.

Like a jack hammer, Mallory Prentice came into Seth’s life and cracked the hard exterior that surrounded his heart. She’s the one woman he was starting to feel might be worth taking a chance on.

But life doesn't always hand you the easy road. Sometimes you are constantly hit with the bad and have no hope of any good ever showing up.

Will Seth and Mallory realize that ultimately they are the ones who are in control of their life’s outcome? Will they embrace the future and fight for their own happiness, or will they keep lingering in past mistakes and let it keep them apart?

Life is all about forgiveness and second chances. Once you come to that conclusion and just go for it, there is…no going back.

My Review:

No Going Back is the second book in this series, Moving Forward being the first. I highly recommend reading Moving Forward first or you will be lost since No Going Back picks up where Moving Forward left off.

I enjoyed this book for the most part. There were some grammar issues and the writing style wasn't my favorite but overall it was a good read. Seth and Mallory are two people who have grown up with huge issues of not feeling good enough. Both think they don't deserve any goodness in life and are willing to deal with the cards they are dealt. Right as Seth was about to try and smooth things over with Mallory his ex, Allison, shows up. She claims that she had his baby and gave it up for adoption and tries to con him into being with her by saying that if they are married, then they have a good chance to get their baby back. Seth knows in his heart that something is amiss but he doesn't want to chance it in case she is telling the truth.

Once Seth learns the real deal he is livid. I wanted to strangle Allison for all the heartbreak she put both Seth and Mallory through. Justice is served in the end, thank goodness.

Seth, Seth, Seth...gah, I wanted to hug him, then punch him, then shake him to make him come to his senses, then about 60% through I wanted to hug him the rest of the time. Seth feels like he is only a  threat to Mallory and that she is better off without him in her life. So he goes on tour and back to his drunken rockstar ways trying to erase and not think about what he has left behind. Even though he knows it isn't working, he feels like its the best for Mallory if he isn't in her life.

I hate the way Nick was treated but I am happy to see he is getting his own book and I hope he will find the happiness that he so deserves.

I love, love, loved, the relationship between Mallory and Jes. These two are what best friends are all about. No matter what kind of stupid decisions Mallory made, Jes told Mal what she thought and then supported her choice just wanting her best friend to be happy.

This book will make your emotions run all over the place but in the end their is a happy ending!

Excerpt
“Hey Seth,” she timidly says before letting out a shaky breath. “Okay, I’m just gonna lay it all on the line, and you can do what you want with it.” Fuck, she came to win me back. “First, me coming here was not my idea, but with that being said, I would have regretted it like a motherfucker if I didn’t try one last time because I think you’re worth the effort. I want you Seth. I want you more than I’ve ever wanted any other man — more than I ever will want any other man. You get me unlike anyone ever has. You know me…the real me. I know what we had was no strings attached, but dammit, I’m attached. I can’t help it Seth, but I fucking love you and knowing you’re about to marry that woman who emotionally fucked you up, kills me. It kills me Seth.”
