Synopsis:

Navigating the world alone is all Josephine Geroux has ever known. Life altering tragedy struck early on for her. She endured an admirable struggle through her youth and learned the hard way how to adapt and survive. She managed to arrive at adulthood in one piece in spite of it all.

After such chaos, maintaining a life free of complications is a priority for her.
Everything changed when a man with amber eyes came through her door and claimed her heart. She fell hard in more ways than one. The pull between Jo and Damon seemed like fate bringing things full circle.

With another devastating loss looming, Jo fights to hold on to the very thing that brought her to her knees. She finds herself torn between a promising future and clinging to a devastating past.
But that’s not the most worrisome problem on her hands.

She must convince more than just herself to let the past stay in the past, where it belongs, but on her journey to find closure and resolution, she does the exact opposite. An old wound caused by a heinous act becomes exposed for what it is. The truth is catastrophic and Jo is helpless, watching as the ruins of her fragile world endure more turmoil.

Can something conceived from tragedy and malice end well? Can something so completely poisoned conquer adversity? Jo is left to make a decision; accept the circumstances she finds herself in or fight with unwavering ferocity to restore what has been damaged.
*Restore Me is the second book in the Wrecked series

My Review:

"I feel like I single-handedly destroyed what little happiness life offered me; Damon." - Jo

In Restore Me, we pick up where we left off at the end of Wreck Me. Jo feels so much guilt in how she was towards Damon the last time they spoke. If only she would have let him explain, if only she would have listened, if only she could take it all back Damon wouldn't be hurt, he wouldn't be different, he wouldn't be so cold. We get lots more of Hottie Mc.Hotterson, Damon Cole in this book. When he started off being so cold at the hospital to Jo I thought, "Oh no! What has happened to our hot, in charge, yet still caring man?" Damon struggles with the guilt from the accident that killed Jo's parents. Instead of the charismatic man we knew, Damon is like a zombie. Thankfully, Jo is determined to get her loving man back, no matter what.

"I meant what I said," I whisper. "I love you. I won't quit. I'll help you out of this."

In the beginning, instead of the seductive make you melt lover, Damon is cold and brutal with Jo. She knows he's hurting but there is still only so much she can take.

"I won't leave him again. I'll never desert him like that again, but this treatment is hard to stomach." ...... "Do you hate me? Do You want me gone? Is this my punishment? Huh?!"

Grams is still the comic relief and doesn't disappoint. When Jo goes to visit Grams, she finds a gorgeous guy named Andy in her room. Grams openly flirts with Andy and purposefully creates odds and ends for Andy to fix in her room just so she can see him moving around. Andy, much to the irritation of Damon, takes a liking to Jo. I DO NOT trust him!!! He's off somehow. He is shady and gives me the heebee jeebies. I just know he is up to no good. Possibly the person that Damon's father, Edward, is speaking with in the Epilogue?? I guess that remains to be seen.

Oh and Edward....Ugh! RAT BASTARD!!! I just wanted to punch his damn lights out. Seriously. Who treats their son like that? I felt myself shaking with anger when reading about all the horrible things he did to Damon. How atrocious he treated him. I hope he rots in jail and Karma comes back to bite him where it counts.

Jo snoops in the cabinets that Damon is always looking in and finds pages from his childhood diary. The information she sees is heartbreaking. She decides to be honest and confront Damon about it...and boy does she. I was holding my breath while tears were rolling down my face at the same time while reading this part. Damon is filled with this lifetime guilt that he was never good enough, that he was always doing something wrong, that he could have been better somehow. He only wanted his father's love.

From this point, Damon starts becoming more like his old self. Hot, steamy lover. Sweet loving boyfriend. Swoon!

This book is on the shorter side but it still has all the elements we love about Jo and Damon. JL Mac will make you reach for your B.O.B. or significant other in two seconds with her ability to write freaking hot as hell love scenes.

I have high hopes going forward for Damon and Jo...let's just hope Edward, the fucktard, doesn't screw it all up!

"I'd be lost without you. Josepine, you save me a thousand times a day in a thousand different ways and you don't even know it."
